Old Albion Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 This was a build that I completed in about 2 weeks. Yes I know a miracle for me. I actually started it the same day that I finished the Peterbilt 359M. I felt inspired and have been planning to build the DM so I got straight on to it. A very enjoyable build, despite that fact that it fought me all the way. Yes I was pleased with the result. I would like to build one of those beam support or bridge trailers to go with it. Not sure what the correct term for them is. Hope you enjoy and thanks for looking. More photo's at my Fotki site. The link is at the bottom.
Aaronw Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 This looks great. I'm not sure what the correct term for this style of trucks is, but I like the rugged looks. All function and durability, looking pretty never crossed the designers mind.
Old Buckaroo Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 That is one tough looking truck. I cant believe you did this in two weeks Very nicely done. I sure wouldn't want to see this in my rear view mirror , more menacing then a rust colored Pete !
Pavel A. Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 (edited) Very nice hardworker! Great... Edited March 11, 2014 by Pavel A.
slusher Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Great looking truck. Excellent work on this classic workhorse
tbill Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 that is one tough looking truck! well done man....you're a machine cranking out one beauty after another
Plastheniker Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 One of the best truck kits ever perfectly executed. A completely convincing workhorse!
cappy625 Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 very nice DM! excellent color choice for that truck.
Old Albion Posted March 12, 2014 Author Posted March 12, 2014 Thanks for all the great comments. I like the utility hard working appearance of trucks like this. To me lots of chrome does not look right on a vehicle like this. Thanks Again!
72 Charger Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Very nice Dave could we have a pic of the rear please? . Did you scratch build the headache rack?
Old Albion Posted March 14, 2014 Author Posted March 14, 2014 Dave, The headache rack is scratch built, it's based on the Kenworth Alaskan Hauler one. Rear views as requested.
72 Charger Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Thanks Dave it looks good on there . Are the rims resin?
kilrathy10 Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 That's a great looking truck....I really like the tires.....Very well done.....That rack on the back looks great.....I think this would look great as one of those haulers, as well....Shouldn't be too hard to build....I think the toughest part would be to build the beam.....
1959scudetto Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Someday I will restore/rebuild mine to look similar like yours. I have built it with the 1976 stars and stripes decoration and much too much chrome...
Turbo590 Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Dave....a super slick build in the 2-weeks as you stated...2 thumbs up!!! Kurt
Q tip Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 a set of michigan gravel boxes would look nice on this..nice truck!
