jackdog Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 I have been building showrods and 1/8 scale hot rods for a while but this year I wanted to build a truck and got hooked. Going to have to get some trailers soon. Thanks for looking.
Tesla Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 They look great. Seeing your Diamond Reo is telling me I've got to finish mine.
Old Buckaroo Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 Wow, you have been busy, The boxart is a great scheme for the Rio, Looks like the Freightliner didn't give you any trouble, Where did you get the Pepsi machine - that is way cool. I like them all !
jackdog Posted March 30, 2014 Author Posted March 30, 2014 Thanks you. I made the Pepsi machines by printing out pics of a machine from the 70's I found on the internet for sale that had nice front and side pics and glued them to sheet plastic. They don't have great detail but look good in the truck.
kilrathy10 Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 (edited) Dude, these all look great.....I, too, like the Pepsi truck with the machine inside.....That is a really nice touch, and the weathering is spot on.....Very nice work.....Makes me want to grab one of those..... That Freightliner looks awesome, too.....I love the paint scheme and it looks as real as you can get...The mods are just beautiful......Excellent work.... Edited March 31, 2014 by kilrathy10
tbill Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 great looking rigs! must know though, the wood inside the pepsi truck, how'd you get the grain? stained wood, or? looks fantastic.
alangarber Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Nice builds. Those turned out great. Now your hooked
Plastheniker Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Very impressive, subtle weathering! Well done!
jackdog Posted April 2, 2014 Author Posted April 2, 2014 tbill, for the weathering all I used was some Testors wood paint a brown and black permanent marker and paper towel with some thinner on it. It was almost like real wood how the darker colors would stay in the grain.
