mitchell Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 (edited) Tamiya kit. A very nice kit but with some missing details. So added a lot of wiring and scratch build part under the hood to make it look busier. Thanks for looking., Edited April 15, 2014 by mitchell
Modelmikey Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 (edited) Nice build, love the look of those old school GT-r's. Great engine bay, and awesome chassis detailing too! Edited April 10, 2014 by Modelmikey

Belugawrx Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Nice detailing there Looks very close to real!!
jbwelda Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 great build! did that engine come with the kit or did you scratchbash it? jb
mitchell Posted April 11, 2014 Author Posted April 11, 2014 Thanks for more positive comments. I don't know about the other kits from Fujimi or Aoshima, but if Tamiya has a car, I will always pick a Tamiya kit because the scaling of their kit is more accurate than the others. The engine came with the car, very nice molding and engraving on the kit engine, but it still lack a lot of details. I build one years ago stock, and the engine compartment is very bare. I added wiring to the ignition cable, battery, lights and etc. I also added lines for the brake and clutch master plus the vacuum pipe. Added hoses for the washer bottle and radiator drain. I also added the water hose from the heater core to the water pump. So I added a lot of extra to make the engine compartment look busier.
asfastasu Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Very nicely done. Have this one waiting in my collection. Seeing yours makes me want to start on it.
mitchell Posted April 12, 2014 Author Posted April 12, 2014 (edited) deleted some of the pictures of this car, so I am added a few more picture of this car. Thanks for looking. Edited April 15, 2014 by mitchell
lordairgtar Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 That is a very nice looking car, Mr Huang. You did an excellent job on it. Are model cars as a hobby very popular in your home country?
mitchell Posted April 13, 2014 Author Posted April 13, 2014 No, Car modeling is really dying in this country. I am sure it is the same all around the world since die-cast cars are so vast and cheap now. I personally cannot stand die-cast car since they do not have the details that I look for in a model. People like me are a dying breed now.
