StevenGuthmiller Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 (edited) Boy...What a long name! Any way, this is another recent build that I happen to have small enough photos to post. It's a X-el repop of the '59 Dodge Custom Royal. Upgrades include, tinted glass, Dual slant back antennas, Modelhaus tires & a set of four bar spinners I snatched from an old '61 Plymouth annual. The paint is MCW factory correct "Coral" & "Rose Quartz" with a black & white interior which is a Modelhaus resin unit. I've had a couple of these laying around for years & never built one but I've always loved the "over the top" styling of the '59 Dodge, so I decided, now is the time. gwolf Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 In 1988 when I was 15 I was over my head in love with an old blue 1959 Dodge Royal that was for sale near my parents house. I imagined myself handing over the $2300 they wanted for it and driving it to school and working on it over the weekends. Well, my father took one look at it and said "no way" and my dreams were crushed. My absolute favorite car of the 1950's. Gorgeous job on this, man.
peekay Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Saw the other photos of this one and I love these indoor shots too - colours a bit stronger.
Speedfreak Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Incredible job Steven, simply beautiful. You did good! It's a museum piece!
iwantmodels Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Hi - Can you tell me where you got the "spinner" wheel covers for your 59 Dodge? I just picked up one at NNL East and it has the stock covers. Thanks!
