ranma Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 AND DIANA SHROE WOULD SING: SEE THE U.S.A. IN A CHEVROLET. CAR IS COMPLETE WITH FACTORY RED PAINTED EXHAUST MANIFOLDS.
bbowser Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Nice. The batwing Impala is one of my favorites. You should see if your camera has a "macro" or close-up setting, might sharpen up the pics.
MrObsessive Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 "All New All Over Again!" Nice work! At least you got yours done...........I'm still plugging away at mine little by little.
ranma Posted April 29, 2014 Author Posted April 29, 2014 Attention Fellow Model Builders! If you go to youtube you can watch a video of the 59 Chevrolet being produced from clay to the real car's being built at the factory. then theres a video that show's pictures that life magazine took at a Chevrolet factory in 1959 there you will see that the Exhaust manifolds were painted red along with the engine. and the 6 cly exhaust manifolds were painted blue along with the engine. It's a must for anyone who want's to build a strait from the factory car.

impcon Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 The car looks really good Rick. It's my all time favorite car ahead of any other. what colour is it that you used?
MrObsessive Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 This is a very cool video! Though the copyright date at the end of the film says 1958......given GM's lead times and having to get the car into production about August of that year, I'd say the clay molding portion of the film was done sometime during '57. Seems that there had to be running examples on the road to be tested by very early '58 at the latest to get the bugs worked out, and to finalize tooling for production. Here's the video............
