I originally started this for the annual 24hr build, something I will not attempt again. Finally finished. It is (drum roll please) .............................box stock! Holy cow, a first for me since I was 12. Duplicolor paint, leopard pattern seats and door panels, dual carbed 312 y-block. As always, any and all comments, criticisms, and clever banter kindly welcome. Not my greatest photos, I'll try to take some better ones soon.

Well, aside from the incredibly out-of-scale flake in the paint, that's a tough looking Ford.

And by the way... what's the deal with trying to build a model within a specified time limit? I will never get the point of that.

I agree with Harry about the time frame. There was a build off on FB and wanted to see if I could do it. Turns out I couldn't and keep up my usual build quality. It's still a decent shelf model though.

Thanks for comments guys.

Why not the 24hr hr build? I couldn't do it lol, there is just not enough time for paint and glue to dry and plan things out

Looks cool, love the red roof and steelies. About the flake/paint,i have seen many custom cars from the 70s look like this.

I really dig that paint job, too! In scale Flakes or out of scale Flakes, doesn't matter as it looks very good like that. I like the opened rear fenders as well, they give it a more aggressive look than if the tires were installed inside regular fender openings. Color combo works well too. Great job.

Now we know what Bob Falfa did with his insurance money. Pretty tough. I thought you had a great run on the 24hr build, you did most of it, but I knew it was doomed from the start with posable wheels and opening doors. You'd have had a satisfying finish with a less involved build.

Glad you finished it, it looks great. Speckling was risky but I'm okay with it. Wheels are perfect.

Well, I glued the doors closed and glued the wheels straight. The tie rod was a bit too short making the wheels look wonky. So I maintained the KISS principle. I doubt seriously I'l try again, but you are correct about the less involved kit. My mistake.

Thanks guys.

If you want a spectacular use of that paint, use it over a coarse silver like dupli-color metalcast silver base then bury it in clear.

I did a 1:1 truck this way about an eon ago it's still astounding when I run across pictures of it.
