Stone Poneys - Different Drum.  Mike Nesmith cover. Such a great song for so many years. Many pople don't know that it was originally a Mike Nesmith song. The Stone Ponies were not very keen on adding the strings and so forth as they were a real folk type of band but the end result was an iconic song that has stod the test of time.

So now that Stranger Things has given Kate Bush a massive shot in the arm, I'm reminded of this most excellent cover of Running Up That Hill that Placebo did back in 2003 on their Covers album.

 

Kate's original is a classic, and that entire Hounds of Love album has been a fav of mine for many years. My old band actually used to cover Cloudbusting.

Having said that, Placebo are one of my fav bands, and their version is fantastic. A little darker.

I only knew of the Nash Kato album. Went to see him for that tour a few years ago when he came to Philly.
