guitarsam326 Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 So I'm listing this as on the bench because it's 98% done, I still need trailer air lines and an electrical hookup, as well as some other odds and ends. This is my first detailed and weathered model. I've built models before, but nothing other than box stock. Anyways, here it is.
Jim B Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Very nice job on your C8000. I like the details on the frame.
cappy625 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 nice build! it kind of reminds me of the old sears trucks I used to see around back in the day.
Chuck Most Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Nice, but not a '59 unless it's undergone a later-model cab swap. A '59 would have had quad headlights and different side badges. The AMT kit is a '71-'74 vintage C-series. Anyway, realistic job on the weathering, and the CAT swap looks like it was meant to be there. Makes me want to get back to work on mine...
Superpeterbilt Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Great job on the motor transplant. Great job on the truck all together. Now it needs to be hooked up to a couple of single vans, or tankers.

I was really up in the air about labeling a year on this one, mainly because of the headlights, but I had seen pics of a few that were 59's and had single headlights. I don't know, theres not a whole lot of definitive info out there. the real reason I chose a 59 is because a NC issue 59 plate looked good on the front, but thanks for the info!!!!

guitarsam326 Posted May 5, 2015 Author Posted May 5, 2015 (edited) Thanks fellas, this was my first truck that I did any sort of detailing on, its what got me back into modeling. The last model before this one was about 10-12 years ago. Edited May 6, 2015 by guitarsam326
