le_marbrier Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 (edited) Waiting for good weather to achieve my Scania wrecker I've started a new model. This time I'll try to detail it more. At the beginning I thought to detail the engine and the frame, but I've got some difficulties to find pics of the "plumbing" of the last one, and the few I've found show me quite a complex system. So I don't know for the frame...Maybe next time. So for the moment only "extra-plumbing" and parts were added to the original Revell Cummins NTC-475 Twin turbos. The dashboard was painted instead of using the decals on the sheet Edited May 18, 2014 by le_marbrier
redneckrodder Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 great start I've got one of the older trucks of the world one that came from a fellow modeler I ned a new cab because when I was stripping the paint I sanded a lot of detail off.

72 Charger Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 Looking good . Watch out for the axel pins they like to SNAP as soon as you look at them
kilrathy10 Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 Still looking awesome.....I like the framework.....Very nice touch painting the bolts.....Looks really good....
baloney Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 i always thought that cummins engines in a kenworth or peterbilt were white........ very nice details on the engine by the way.
Superpeterbilt Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 i always thought that cummins engines in a kenworth or peterbilt were white........ very nice details on the engine by the way. That was only up until a certain year( I forget) and even then there were plenty of Petes with manufacterer colored motors in trucks while others had white motors.
le_marbrier Posted February 21, 2015 Author Posted February 21, 2015 engine connected. Wheels glued.....to preserve my mental health....
Kenny B Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 Franck, Kenworth looks good. One thing that I noticed is that the bolts that are sticking out of the brake pods needs to be cut off. Nice detail. Ken.
Kostas Parchas Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 Nice details, well done so far. Kostas.
kilrathy10 Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Very nice work, Man.....The engine work is outstanding......

Goodwrench3 Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Wow -- nice ! What color paint did you use on the exhaust pipes ? They look fantastic !
le_marbrier Posted April 17, 2015 Author Posted April 17, 2015 (edited) Wow -- nice ! What color paint did you use on the exhaust pipes ? They look fantastic ! I used a kind of "dry brush" of Humbrol 85 on the lower chromed parts, and painted the inside of the exhaust pipes with the same reference. For the parts between the engine and the exhaust pipes main color is Humbrol 56, then dry-brush with Humbrol 70 and 85. Did I correctly answer the question ? Edited April 17, 2015 by le_marbrier

I'm new to the whole "drybrushing" thing. Can you explain more about how you applied the Humbrol 70 and 85 after painting them with Humbrol 56? Thanks !
