johnbuzzed Posted May 19, 2014 Author Posted May 19, 2014 (edited) This is something that kept me busy for a while when I was unemployed. It's the Model King reissue on an AMT/Ertl Ram dually. I added some stuff to the interior, including two throw-rugs that were fabricated one thread at a time. I used old Microscale wood-grain decals on the cabinetry. The ladder was fabricated from aluminum tubing and coffee stirrers; the roof platform is also made from coffee stirrers. The bike was my last build on LI some five years ago. The trailer is the bed from the Lindberg '34 Ford pickup with a rudimentary frame; with wheels and tires from my parts box. The other stuff is from my parts box. If I had to build another one, I would use a piece of glass as a plate to get the sides, etc, square- the top is removable, but not without a lot of grimacing. Comments are welcome. TooOld Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 There's a lot of work involved here . . . Excellent job ! Love the Hot Wheels tires on the wagon .
TheCat Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 That's just cool. I love all the little details you've done.
peekay Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Great! Tons of detail AND a very realistic overall appearance.
slusher Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Man, what a realistic build. Excellent build and detail.
Tom Geiger Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Very cool build. I like all the detail! One thing I always wondered about the Open Road camper.. how it fared with that huge expanse of glass across the back. I would expect it to flex while driving, and maybe the fit be compromised over time. I know I had enough issues with a set of Anderson sliders at my old house!
MsDano85gt Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 very cool puts my build to shame!! i used hot glue for the main assembly of walls on mine as like you mention they are very fineky to fit em together.......
kilrathy10 Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Oh, yeah....This is one sweet piece of work.....Great job getting this one set up....Very nice...I really like that little red wagon.....
Silver Foxx Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Really nice build , love all the great detail in this , well done .
Ramfins59 Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 John, that looks really great. You did a dynamite job on all the little realistic details as usual.
MsDano85gt Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 mine is nothing compared to the awsome hot rodder hideaway you have created! i actually now want to "redo" mine
johnbuzzed Posted May 22, 2014 Author Posted May 22, 2014 Thanks for all the compliments . Dan, if I inspired you... go for it!
