LunaticRick Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Built this a few months back & took a few months. I tried to replicate Shirley Shahan's super stock WO23 Coronet as close as I could. A lot of research but not a lot of info on this car. Painted with Model Master classic white, then polished to a shine. I used a Model Car Garage Coronet photo etched kit along with some scratch made details. The engine was wired and plumbed with painted details in the engine bay. the four speed tranny was removed & replaced with a 727 automatic tranny. The front suspension was raised slightly to get the right stance. The blue strips didn't fit around the wheel wells very well at all and I didn't like how the clear decal showed up around the window numbers. Rick

tubbs Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 nice build. I have not seen too many of Shirleys coronet around. Most people use aftermarket decals and do a different car.
John Pol Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Great build by the way I have lots of old magazines there is not detail shoots on any of her cars

W-409 Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Good looking Coronet Super Stock! It's always nice to see a model that's built to match a full scale Drag Car. Especially when they are this nicely done, super paint job and incredible detailing in the engine bay, too. The decals on the windows are silvering a little as you said, but other than that I see no problems...Very nice build!
