Shane, that is really great. This just goes to show what the right color combination can do for a car, outstanding, the wheels are just right too. Good basic ideas and good craftsmanship have resulted in a real quality build, good job!

Excellent Shane!! This kit looks to be a great one & you did a terrific job on it! I do have one small tip that I've learned over the years. You can take it or leave it. The black wash in the door & trunk gaps looks very stark on a light colored body. I've done many kits like that in the past & I've found that a wash of a darker shade of the body color looks much more realistic. Either way, it looks great! Steve

Beautifully done Shane , I really like that color !

Your detailing is first class too , but I have to agree that the panel lines are a bit too dark .

Your choice of colors is looking great! Well done and a very clean built Shane!

As mointed, in my opinion the dark panellines "distroys" the smoooooth look of the Olds. They are too dominant in my view. Perhaps, for next builts, try to take the bodycolor and mix it a littlebit darker. Or take a light grey for it.

Thanks every one...And I do agree the black wash is way to dark....Good thing is its water base so I can remove it... May try to add some white to make it a little lighter or I think I have some yellow and add a bit off black to it..

Hi Shane,

What a gorgeous model! Very clean and well made.

What did you do to get the paint to shine so nicely?

Gorgeous ~ ~ ~ with the exception of the panel lines. Glad you agree.

Put up some pix after you fix them. It should really improve the model overall!

You don't want to add white to a black wash... you'll get gray. What you want is a darker shade of the body color, so yellow with a tiny bit of black. Add more black if necessary, but the goal is a dark yellow, NOT a stark black. The perfect example: look at the real panel lines on the hood, where they are actual open gaps. Those lines are nowhere near as dark as the black lines you added to the doors and trunk.
