Dave Ambrose Posted September 14, 2018 Posted September 14, 2018 Is that a torsion bar front suspension?
RancheroSteve Posted September 14, 2018 Posted September 14, 2018 There's also a lengthy article on the then under construction XR-6 in the April 1963 issue of Hot Rod.

Yes, it is. 20 hours ago, RancheroSteve said: There's also a lengthy article on the then under construction XR-6 in the April 1963 issue of Hot Rod. Now I'm wondering if there's a connection between this car and the Revell 1/4 scale early Chrysler Slant Six engine kit.
Richard Bartrop Posted September 14, 2018 Posted September 14, 2018 That front suspension is right out of a Volkswagen. The Dream Rod used a VW front end as well.
stavanzer Posted September 14, 2018 Posted September 14, 2018 According to the Late Bob Paeth, the exact same Engine was used as a master to both kits, As he told it, Revell used it first, and then shipped it to AMT when they were done with it. Revell also used it for the Slant 6 in their 1/25 kits of the same time.
