migace
I really had fun doing this one. Practiced my masking skills. I found some of these '88 Promo's at a great price. So I will be doing a few more in different factory color schemes. My camera doesn't seem to focus too well sorry for that. I hope you all enjoy! As an aside this Silverado's options are interesting, 5 speed manual, bucket seats, not a bench, console, long bed, power windows/locks, and prob a at least 5.0 L 8. Also I believe '88 was first year for EFI. I would enjoy driving this truck. All comments welcome of course!
migace
Mirrors are coming from Modelhaus, here is K2500 I saw that gave me the idea for the paint. Edited June 8, 2014 by migace
hgbben
Looks great and good choice for the colors. There is one of these in the same color locally here.
Dan Rosenello
Very nicely done ! And a good example proving Chevy used to make the bedt looking pickups.
MyBradKeselowski
Beautiful ! ! Flawless ! ! I really like that color, looks very realistic in some the pics. It looks like a truck they would use for a dealer brochure. 1987 was the first year for EFI, as I bought the first 87 Silverado that my local chevy dealer unloaded off the truck and it had the 5.7 EFI engine. charlie8575
Very nice truck. I liked the color selection and A-B-A two-tones that GM was offering on the 1988-about 1991 trucks. Charlie Larkin
slusher
Very sharp build. Real nice work. I remember when these 88 came out and they was all long beds no one would buy one. After the old body style sold out they slowly started selling...

unclescott58
Next to the '67 through '72 generation of Chevy trucks, this generation is still one of my favorites. Very nice job on your build Lucus. Scott
1972coronet
Nice detailling on that Promo ! I remember when this Promo and its companion Kit were released in early 1988 ; I could hardly await their arrival ! Every pickup kit from the 80's was a flippin' 4 wheel drive , and I needed a 2 wheel drive ! I can still see the review by our own Terry Jesse in a late 1987 issue of 'SAE' . He'd received an early production Promo ; he added some Bare Metal Foil to it in order to accent its side mouldings . His words were , "The collectors are probably going to kill me , but I just had to add some detail to [this promo] ..."

Evilbenny
Great job on that grill. The grill in these kits/promo's are always a tough job for me to get right. Your color choice is great also. Looking real sharp.

migace
dupli gm brown, couldnt find a proper gold gm so i saw a ford gold that worked from dupli and testors wet clear. i should have wet sanded a little more but paint looks pretty good i think. I am doing another 88' Silverado with blue white two tone. Coming up soon! And again thank you all for the kind words!
Davewilly
Very nicely done! My dad bought one Just like it when they first came out. It was a fun truck to drive and I kinda liked the two tone brown paint job on it.
