johnbuzzed Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 (edited) A couple of older builds based on the Polar Lights pre-painted kits. They were built a few years apart. I replaced the kits' 6-cylinder distributor in each with parts box parts, added some flock, co-ordinating paint and BMF to the interiors and used dot matrix printer pins for antennas. The red car has some BMF for the exterior trim and steelies from my parts box. The exhaust tips on the black car are styrene tubing. Decals are from my parts box, the peace sign is a fingernail applique and the Nixon bumper sticker is a photo-reduced item (I still have the original!). As usual, comments and critiques are welcome. Thanks for looking. http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// Edited June 16, 2014 by johnbuzzed

High octane Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Very nice as I just love dem Mopars, especially 65's.
Harry P. Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Man, those are beee-yooo-tiful! Could almost pass for real.
Customman Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Nice work ! They do look like real cars. A friend of mine had a black '65 Max Wedge 4 speed car back in the day just like yours.
vc273 Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Hi John these look wicked. Have one on the go at the moment being built as pro streeter.
DeeCee Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 What a great pair, very very well executed, they do look almost real.
johnbuzzed Posted June 17, 2014 Author Posted June 17, 2014 Thanks for the compliments. I realized after I took the pix that the cars were a little dusty as they don't lead a sheltered life- no showcases for them(yet).
JTalmage Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 absolutely gorgeous. I love old mopars, and especially the street legal drag type! perfect example of two different personas of the same car in the mid 60's! Adding the peace sign and the nixon sticker was a great idea. I'd like to do something like that, but never think of the little details like that, to add a personal touch as if someone really owns it... good thinking.
