Lovefordgalaxie Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 I love it, the color looks perfect for the car.
enzoferrari Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Very nice ! Like the choice of color, and the foiling looks great !
RandyB. Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Very nice. Great job on the black on the front and back bumpers. That is very hard to paint correctly.
rmvw guy Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 That is a lot of trim, I see why you may have put it away for a while. Turned out nice.
Harry P. Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 I'll give you a pass on no mirrors... but the taillights look a little wonky. Not your fault, I think... it's the way the model is made.
Harry P. Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 One very minor mistake though. The oval you painted blue on the back of your car should be red... That's a red XL logo... Not exactly...
bbowser Posted July 8, 2014 Author Posted July 8, 2014 I'll give you a pass on no mirrors... but the taillights look a little wonky. Not your fault, I think... it's the way the model is made. You're right Harry. I'm now thinking those tri-bar pieces were for the custom version, not stock. The only question now is how to reproduce the 4 point star?
Harry P. Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 A short length of styrene rod for the center part, styrene sheet or strip for the ribs. But it won't be easy, we're talking about very small pieces. You might just want to leave things be and call it a "custom."
unclescott58 Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Not exactly... I thought I checked that one carefully. But, rechecking your right Harry. It looks like that XL emblem was the same on '62 1/2 and '63 XLs. Sorry about that guys! Scott
