RancheroSteve Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 I'm diggin' this a lot! Great concept. I built the Messerschmitt basically stock, but I've got another one that I want to do as a hot rod/racer/tuner - maybe with a modern motorcycle engine.
jbwelda Posted August 9, 2014 Author Posted August 9, 2014 (edited) hoping to wrap this one up this coming week, polished out the black and it looks much better now, will put a coat of wax on it later, but for now some pics of it with the headlamps posed in place, will glue together after waxing I think. then theres some little stuff to complete and I think I will call it done. made some kustom teardrop taillights that are gonna look sweet back there. also am planning on taking a black technical pen and going around all the separations between colors and clean them up a little more. jb Edited August 9, 2014 by jbwelda
GerN Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Its great to see something so original executed so well.
Bob Ellis Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 It's like a 1950 Studebaker; hard to tell which way it is going.
Lunajammer Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 That's pretty funky. Looking forward to the finished details.
jbwelda Posted August 10, 2014 Author Posted August 10, 2014 >hard to tell which way it is going. watch it now, you are definitely giving me ideas! it would look pretty neat with the ends swapped! jb
DynoMight Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Well this is... different. But in a good way!
426-Hemi Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 I make scale motors bigger then that thing...... THE SAME scale! Cool no less, any space to dump an aluminum Hemi in it?
chunkypeanutbutter Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Love the wheels - what kit are they from? Tamiya Mini Cooper.
jbwelda Posted November 6, 2014 Author Posted November 6, 2014 yep the rally version of the mini cooper I believe. and its already got a Hemi in it. 2 cylinder style. jb
chunkypeanutbutter Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 The stock version, the 1275s I think it was, had them, as well.
jbwelda Posted November 6, 2014 Author Posted November 6, 2014 thanks for bringing this up again. I should post some new pics, its finished and looks considerably better than those in progress photos I posted. it was a fun little build with the added challenge of it being a clear body. I did scratch build the interior though, what came with the kit was cringeworthy. jb
