Why do I keep getting this quote when i try to post?

"You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community."

I've done this countless times.

OK....I'll try this again. Spent a considerable amount of time prepping the Comp Resins radiator shell. It was a solid piece with the radiator which had to be removed. This left a very thin piece along the bottom which i strengthened by adding a piece of styrene. Saturday I primered it, cleaned it up some more and shot another coat of primer on it. Then it was final sanded with 1200 grit. I shot it with gloss black yesterday, both sides and gave it the rest of the day to dry. I shot Alclad on it this morning.

Its coming along albeit slowly. I appreciate your interest and comments welcome.

Please don't hit me. Ya' know what would be kewl Brad? No, not Bacon Brownies.

Take a piece of wire insulation or heat shrink tube like at the top of the tank, cut a split in it and use that for a cushion under the tank on the bracket.

I'm not saying Bacon brownies wouldn't be cool, but that would be better.

Don't feel singled out. I do this to John and Chris and Tim all the time.

Hi Brad,

Those are some fine looking parts, the wheels do look great, tank too. Good that you're back at it.

"Bacon brownies"....lol.

I don't know Joe, bacon brownies might just be better.

I like your suggestion and would do it although the reference photos don't show that as much as I can tell. I may just do it anyway. Thanks and I won't hit you, you're too far away.

Brad... that is some mighty fine work on the radiator shell. Looks like you are becoming an Alclad master like our big brother Johnny Alcad. I am also digging the moon tank and straps, it looks great.I am looking forward to your next update.

Thanks for the positive feedback gentlemen. I've been working on the 'batwings' for attaching the radius rods for the front axle. Have one side done and attached, working on the other side. I'll get some pictures up either tonight or in the morning.

Ok.....ok, here's a few pictures. I made these out of aluminum printing plate and cut a slot in the axle with a P/E saw blade for them to fit into. They may be a bit big but I'm going with them this size because I'm tired of having to find them on the floor. LOL

Radius arms are next and I have a couple of different ideas on those. Stay tuned.

Brad... That there is some freaking awesome work.I have to give you credit doing all of this in 1/25th scale. I don't know if I could do detail like that to them anymore after working on bigger stuff...lol

Thought I'd take a break from packing and see what people who still actually work on models are up to.

Wowza Brad. Well done sir on the axle and leafs (leaves?). I hear ya' on dropping stuff. Not me, but I've heard it happens to other people.

Wasn't able to get any bench time in yesterday so I'll get some time in the week. I will share with you that the axle keeps coming unglued in a couple of spots from all of the rough handling. I still need to put it back together.

Post deleted because its not allowing me to use the brackets [ and ].

A bit of work done over the long weekend but mostly it was family time. Started on the exhaust by using some aluminum craft wire from Michael's. It's 0.078 in diameter and with all of the handling, it polishes up a bit. The flange is brass as well as the pins. The exhaust tips have been drilled out and will eventually get some flat black paint once these are done.

I'll work some more on these this week but feel I have a good start.

Hi Brad, good to see the progress.

Man! Aluminum wire instead of tubing, now that's a cool idea! I wanted to use aluminum tube in 2.5mm, but nowhere to be had. Thanks for the info. The wire you have equals out to 2mm, great. Bending soft aluminum tube is an adventure that I don't need again so soon.

How did you fasten the brass wire to the alu wire?

Michael
