parkflyrer 50 Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 hello guys just thought I'd show you my latest project. this is the second kit I've build in many many years of being away from the hobby. It's an old monagram 1:24 kit I bought about 15 years ago I painted it testors competition orange with the flat black hood.so many things have changed I actually used the pledge floor polish method as clear coat and it worked pretty good for me any advice from anyone on how to polish it and get it a little smoother would be great. I think it came out okay I know it's a little simple compared to a lot of cars I see here. Hope you guys like it any advice or constructive suggestions appreciated Thanks
wayne swayze Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Looks pretty darn good! Of course, it's a favourite of mine, so I'm biased.
robs4516 Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Nice, clean build, looks good! Can't help you on polishing Future finishes, I've never used it.
DynoMight Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Great job! As for polishing, I'm pretty sure something like turtle wax will work. Test it on something else than the model, maybe a plastic spoon.
Miatatom Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Nice looking build! As for polishing Future, I used 8000 and then 12000 polishing cloths, then Novus Fine Scratch Remover and finally Novus polish on this Falcon Ranchero. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=91357&hl=
OldTimer50707 Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Nicely done build. A used dryer sheet will bring the shine out from using Future.
carcrazy19 Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Looks real nice and the paint looks good too. I've never polished or used future clear on the body of my models just on small parts and engine bay parts but from what I read and from watching some videos using used dryer sheets seems to work for polishing future clear. Good job.
Maxicoop Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 sweet build .......... start her up and lets go for a ride !!!
