gtx6970 Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 If I buy one at all, it will be to build this, so the firewall is neither here nor there. too funny. That car was my exact thought when read about the wiper motor complaint
russosborne Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 I can't make out any details on the side of that car. Anyone know the name or other details so I could find out about it online? Thanks,Russ
gtx6970 Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 (edited) Its the Jack Chrisman - aka Sachs and Son car. The car was pretty radically altered back in its day Edited April 27, 2016 by gtx6970
RancheroSteve Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 (edited) There are a few dead links (the thread is about 7 years old), but If you've got few hours to waste:http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/64-65-comets-old-drag-cars-lets-see-pictures.335534/And a video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-dO-UPe7uo Edited April 27, 2016 by RancheroSteve
Ron Hamilton Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 I welcome the "Rivet Counting", as long as the "counters" know what they are writing about. Most of the time, it makes for a better model kit, and it gives me less work to do. After I finish a couple of projects, I want to get into the Mobieus 1961 Ventura. I have a plan for my build, and after seeing some of the completed builds here on the board, I have an Idea of where I am going on this one.
Reeves Racing Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 I just checked my back order status on the three kits I pre-ordered. It now has moved out for a fourth time. Now it went from June to September.Any updates as to why it keeps getting pushed out?

Reeves Racing Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Making it right?I hope so, but they don't give any updates on their web site.
Dave Metzner Posted May 19, 2016 Author Posted May 19, 2016 Needed to make some fixes after 2nd test shots.. hope to have 3rd test shots around 1st week of June - If fixes have been made to our satisfaction, we'll get the kit into production..Hope to have box art and instruction sheet by the time that the third test shot gets here..Can't tell you more than that..

mtrcitymuscle Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 As a Cyclone owner, I am looking forward to this hitting the shelves. It looked great on the Mobius display at this past NNL Detroit.
Nova-ss Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 I can't wait..but I can wait cause to much on the scale shop floor.if it was out now.I would want to start it but would need to wait till caprice is done.thank you Dave for the update.and I want it as right as it can be.as someone said.."less work for me".and also thank you Moebius.keep up the great work...love it....Chris
Dave Metzner Posted June 14, 2016 Author Posted June 14, 2016 A little bad news, got 3rd test shots last week, most fixes were made - not all.Now I'm waiting to find out how quickly I can have corrections that still need to be made in my hands! Needless to say the guys at the factory have been informed of my displeasure in no uncertain terms..Still hoping to have production kits before too much longer!
RancheroSteve Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 Thanks for the update - I appreciate your efforts to get it right, not quick!
'70 Grande Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 Agreed on getting it correct; even if it means we all have to wait longer! We certainly do appreciate these updates that you provide, Dave. We'll be patient... because it'll be worth it!
mtrcitymuscle Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 Thank's for the Update Dave. Not bad news IMO. All part of the process!
Sledsel Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 (edited) I appreciate the "get it right" attitude rather than the "good enough" of some other new tools Edited June 14, 2016 by Sledsel
Sledsel Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 I want to build this.... and this...and this..... and maybe this..... and..............
stavanzer Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 (edited) Will any of the variants of this kit feature the "Twin Nostril" hood shown on the light blue car in the previous post? I know that the test shot does not seem to show one, but I am curious for the future.TIA Edited June 14, 2016 by alexis
louie Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 Thanks Dave for the update and I also appreciate your attention to detail and not good enough. Again, Thank you. Jeff
Nova-ss Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 Absolutely want it right and appreciate your care and diligence on this but as was already said "not bad news" its part of getting things right.and I greatly appreciate all yours and the people in production making the changes.you all have a great day....thank you,Dave,Moebius and all others......Chris
