Mike_G Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Count me as impressed, I've seen quite a few bar bands attempt that song and screw it up badly when those notes come up! Thanks! I have to sing that song early in the set when my voice is fresh, LOL That song was purposely written to sound like a Creedence tune, btw.
Scale-Master Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 And when your looks are gone and you're aloneHow many nights you sit beside the phoneWhat were the things you wanted for yourselfTeenage ambition you remember wellThe first and only hit by Asia. Weren't they supposed to be the new Led Zeppelin at that time?Heat Of The Moment. Kinda ironic?
Custom Mike Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Asia had a second hit Mark, Only Time Will Tell. They were a good band, but way overhyped at the start for sure! Killer album artwork though!

Snake45 Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Asia had a second hit Mark, Only Time Will Tell. They were a good band, but way overhyped at the start for sure! Killer album artwork though! I think my local FM station played quite a few Asia songs--maybe the whole album. Yeah, I remember they were supposed to be the New Supergoup. And they weren't too bad, either, IMHO.
Snake45 Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 life is just a fantasy - Aldo Nova I think that was his only "hit" but he's been involved in music all this time. He's been involved in either writing or producing quite a few tunes you've probably heard, though his name's not associated with them.
Guest Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Aldo Nova worked with Bon Jovi,on their first album.
Guest Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 You know that talk is cheap And those rumors ain't nice And when I fall asleep I don't think I'll survive the night, the night
Snake45 Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Aldo Nova worked with Bon Jovi,on their first album. Yeah, there ya go, just as a ferinstance. I think he also wrote at least one of the American Idol finalist songs--and one that actually sold a few records, too. I'd have to look it up.
ChrisBcritter Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Like the smoke that rises from a flame I hear that homesick ????? call my name Telling foreign tales that are not new Listening for the lies when nothing's true And he's waiting for me to perform... (Never could decipher that word in the second line - sounds like "hobo" or "Volvo". Hint: Not the Doors but sounds a lot like them.) Calm Before the Storm - Phantom's Divine Comedy Should have been a hit; maybe the rumors that this was Jim Morrison and the secrecy about who it really was - some no-name musicians from Detroit - got in the way?
ChrisBcritter Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 (edited) OK, let's try something a bit different. Two different songs, but near identical theme and structure - they could easily become a medley: 1. Into the city Where I had my eye On all the pleasures That money can buy... 2. This tired city Was somebody's dream A billboard horizon As black as they seem... #1 - Female folk/pop singer; this was as close to a hit as she got #2 - Group with three number one hits but this one only charted number 12 Edited November 4, 2014 by ChrisBcritter

He's been involved in either writing or producing quite a few tunes you've probably heard, though his name's not associated with them. He had a second (minor) hit in 1991, Bon Jovi helped him out to return the favor. It wasn't a bad song at all, but it got lost in the shuffle. The name of the song was Blood On The Bricks, give it a listen! http://youtu.be/xhL4JBSojxE

slusher Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 life is just a fantasy - Aldo Nova Yes, great song and you hardly hear it on the classic rock stations...
