Snake45 Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 yea, that's one of those songs that my arm would immediately snap to the radio buttons to change the station. know the song, don't think I have ever heard it all the way thru. Oh, my! That's one of my favorite songs of all time (Donovan's Catch the Wind). Right up there with Ruby Tuesday. I don't know why someone doesn't cover it today and have a big hit with it.
tubbs Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Not a Donovan Fan, huh?Donavan was an awesome artist, he was OK, just wasn't into that folk jazz style of music.
tubbs Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Thanks allot Ed!!!!! Been humming that little ditty all morning and their coming to take me away ha ha Back at ya!!! I hope you have this in your melon all day!!!! With their vocal group the cript kicker fivehaha.... I am singing Carrabin queen, will be till someone puts up something else that sticks in my head. I have Cream playing thru my 'puter right now and it's not helping.
Snake45 Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 I've found that a good song for washing out earworms is Johnny Cash's Ring of Fire. You have to start with the mariachi trumpets, of course. Works every time for me.

I don't know why someone doesn't cover it today and have a big hit with it.I was 6 when try and catch the wind hit the charts (1965) I was listening to Sam the Sham, Temptations, beach boys, junior walker. more upbeat stuff I guess. some artists just should not be covered. too classic, or maybe out of respect. maybe the original artists will not give permission. look how wacky Manzarek went with his music and Jim Morrison.
tubbs Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 (edited) We go dancing nightly in the atticWhen the moon is rising in the skyI feel good today, the mind is working to almost 5% efficiency.I have the artist and the song, just not the title..... darn!ok, it's Alice Cooper but darn if I can think of the song. chunkypeanutbutter Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 (edited) Love is a burning thing And it makes a fiery ring. Bound by wild desire.... I fell in to a ring of fire I fell in to a burning ring of fire I went down, down, down And the flames got higher... Ring of Fire - Johnny Cash I love is song to death right here. I wish they still made music. "____ _____ ___ we will find a brighter day 'cuz I've been standing at the station In need of education in the rain..." Edited January 27, 2015 by chunkypeanutbutter
