Mopar - D Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 (edited) I'm using the AMT rereleased 1925 Fruit truck kit with a HEMI. Going with a Sublime green and black trim. The plan is to make this a Hot Rod delivery truck so I will have some hot rod parts in the back. Here's some pictures to get started. As always your comments are always appreciated. slusher Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Looks like a great kit Dan. I will follow along, I enjoy your builds..
TFchronos Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Awesome! Looking forward to seeing more.
Skip Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Are you going to give it panel sides or leave it open? Either way this kit builds a really nice C Cab, I built a couple of these back in the day. Hmmmm need to build a couple more!
Mopar - D Posted September 23, 2014 Author Posted September 23, 2014 I'm thinking I'm going to leave it open and put some auto parts in the back like a create motor or other parts.
deuces wild Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Maybe a couple of surf boards up top????
FASTBACK340 Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 I always liked the funky street-rod graphics in yellow on the box art. Cool build choice!
fractalign Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Wow I never knew AMT did this one as kit !
Mopar - D Posted September 25, 2014 Author Posted September 25, 2014 Robert AMT just released the kit for the first time since its oringal release.
Mopar - D Posted September 27, 2014 Author Posted September 27, 2014 I've been working on the engine and the cab. The cab ended up needing some putty at some of the joints. I painted the wood in the bed with flat black and model master Leather streaked for the wood grain affect.
FASTBACK340 Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Oh boy thats going to be a fun ride! Thanks for the update.
deuces wild Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Lookin' good... Did the hemi come in the kit???
Mopar - D Posted September 27, 2014 Author Posted September 27, 2014 Guido it came with a Ford motor I'm using a HEMI from the 67 GTX kit.
Mopar - D Posted September 30, 2014 Author Posted September 30, 2014 I picked up a cold this weekend so not much time on the work bench but here is what I was able to get done. I'm going to lengthen the wheel base as shown and was able to get the primer on. Made the front white walls blue to match the back slicks.
Mopar - D Posted October 5, 2014 Author Posted October 5, 2014 Was finially able to get some paint on today. Still will need some clear coat and black on the top.
slusher Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Color looks great Dan. Are you going to put anything in the bed??
