Big Rig Score

Recommended Posts

Sam, I have to harken back to this build which I am in total awe of:

http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=80348

Looks pretty long to me compared to the truck in the foreground. I'm not sure of the overall length but there is no tag axle. Four front steering tires, yes.

I can't wait to see which direction you go, no matter what that may be. Still a great score of kits too.

That Diamond Reo is a beautiful truck.

Ok, here is an assortment of parts. Roughly sorted Autocar stuff. The chassis, cab and hood all seem to be correct, but there is a different set of fenders that are also Autocar, but a different series? Any help identifying the bits will be appreciated.

TIA, Sam

Sam,looks like about 90% Autocar parts there! the rounded fenders are from the tractor, the pit fenders, grille guard, steps etc. from the dumptruck. The red hood is from the MPC Mack DM-800. A couple pieces there I'm not familiar with,a nice score none-theless!..............................Mark

Chassis is a s-line inter.

Mark, I am a newbie when it comes to the trucks and that went straight over...or through...what kit did it come from?

I dug through the stack of instruction sheets and came up with both ones for Autocar. lol

Ok, here is what was in the box of frames. Afew look like they were custom built as well. The one with the radiator shell still attached is a KW. Any and all help with identifying these is much appreciated also.

Thanks again...

3rd pic of the cabs, looks to be a white/freightliner SD [day cab, single drive]

last pic, brown and white is chevy titan.

second pic, rear cab looks like KW K123, front right looks like white/freightliner DD cab.

4th pic looks like more W/F cabs.

hope this helps some.

G,day mate , what i ment about the s-line chassis is it's from an early ertl S- line conventional , and someone has glued the cab mounts onto the chassis to put the autocar cab on that chassis .

The short chassis with the white coloured cummins motor in it is a cabover kenworth with the hard to come by torsion bar suspention . It was a mongrel of a rear end and i think it would be worse in the condition that you have there . Sorry for just chucking in the comment about the chassis , cheers mark .
