Yep, snow on Halloween and on Sunday we set the clocks back as well. Guess I'll have to adjust my attitude like I did last winter as it did make things easier. Not great, but a bit easier.

I didn't see any in West Chicago, Geneva, or St. Charles tonight, but it was so windy in spots my 200 was dancing around some......just glad I wasn't in my Jeep, it's not only a big, 5.5'+ tall steel box, but it's lighter than my 200 too!

Got it here as well starting about 6:15; plus last night I went to pick up some Taco Bell goodies for dinner, and when I got back home the odometer on my Buick read 58,666  .

Your in trouble Chris. And that reminds me. I mentioned this in another thread here. When I got new license plates for my Buick this spring, I randomly got a plate with the numbers 333 on them. Does this now mean I'm half evil? :)

By the way, no snow in Minnesnowa yet. Yay!

Joe, I was driving home from work on I294 yesterday evening, and my Taurus felt as though it was going to take flight, unlike that Russian powered rocket on Wallop Island the other day. :P

First off Chris, I really like Your user name!! Secondly, if I noticed those digits on my odometer on Halloween, that something was definitely up.

The 200 felt like it was torque steering all over the place yesterday, even though I was off the gas and brakes! The mileage even took a dive too, although running E85 (even though it should now be on the E70 winter blend) doesn't help much when it's that cold out.

Could be worse, I think I came close to getting hit by a couple drunk drivers last night that seemed to have a diffucult time understanding how to stop or slow down at lights. Second one had me making a 0-70mph run with the front tires lit up almost all the way through an intersection, I didn't let off until until I could confirm his lights were getting smaller in my mirror!

I remember Halloween when my son was 4 years old, and it was rainy and windy. My wife took him out to trick or treat, and when they returned he was so upset and said: "this is the worst Halloween of my life".

He's now 24, and turns out he was right!! I just found out this was the worst Halloween for weather in 20 years!!!

Tell me about it. I didn't mention that the GEN light came on when I was at a stoplight. Went off when I hit the gas, and at least I made it home. Hope it's just my eight-year-old battery giving up the... ghost?

It rained all day here near Philadelphia. Dreary, chilly day in the 40s. The part that ticks me off is that I had cleared the yard of leaves last Sunday, figuring that if I blew it all into the woods every chance I got, it would be easier. Today it was raining sand I couldn't do anything about the week's worth of leaves that have covered everything. I am going to a wedding tomorrow (plus the leaves are still wet) so I won't get a chance again until next Sunday. I'll probably have leaves a foot deep by then!

And it absolutely sux when it snows before you get the leaves up!

We had about a foot of snow for Halloween at the construction site in Labrador, although that ended up being only at the camp. On the weekend, though, we ended up getting another two feet site-wide; it was bad enough that the whole site was shut down. And to top it off we were without power for an hour or so. I fully expect there to be another two feet of snow when I head back on Tuesday...

The weathermen are telling us we can expect our first substantial snow fall of the season coming this Monday. NO............! Too early! That means we'll be stuck with snow for the next five months at least. Maybe six. Need to check the snowblower and the gun ( :) ) this weekend.

That was the winter of 2001 for me. I had a construction project to put up a modular office building that was designed and ready to go in September. Of course there was a lot of hemming and hawing, and they finally approved it really close to the January 1 required delivery date. And it happened to be one of the worst winters in NY state in a long time. Literally the first two hours of every work day was shoveling snow out of the previous day's work!
