SMBC Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 On the trim, if you use Alclad, do you have to mask off all the trim after you paint the body?
nico Posted November 4, 2014 Author Posted November 4, 2014 espo try that, it's very good aspect in real. SMBC, yes, I mask all the body after paint for use the alclad chrome, but this is more easy for me than use the BMF I hate the BMF !!!
Monty Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 (edited) Nico, welcome to our board! To the best of my knowledge, you're the 3rd French modeler on here, and all three of you seem to share our American passion for street machines. You three also seem to have some great paint and assembly skills. The color combination you chose for your '55 isn't all that common, but it still stands out because it works together well. Nice job on the engine and interior too. I hope you'll favor us with more of your work as soon as possible. PS You are too talented to not be able to use BMF. It's really not hard, and IMNSHO, it's something you'll find numerous uses for, such as detailing small interior parts etc. Edited November 4, 2014 by Monty
nico Posted November 4, 2014 Author Posted November 4, 2014 thanks monty three French only , it isn't much ... actually, no US car for me, I make a 1989 celica rallye, a lamborghini countach and a 1999 yamaha yzr 500. I'll post all the WIP this week end
Dragline Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 As mentioned several times before that color combo is outta sight. Well executed as well. Very clean. Bob
TooOld Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Once again , those colors look really nice on this '55 . I applaud your use of Alcad instead of BMF , it's much harder to mask and make it look right than applying some foil . Very nice work !
outlaw035 Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 that is one sharp double nickel....really nice job on the interior...
Ramfins59 Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 That is certainly one beautiful model Nico, you did a great job. I can't understand how you feel that masking off all of the painted body around the trim and then spraying with Alclad and then unmasking is easier than using BMF, but that's just my opinion...... to each his own.
nico Posted November 5, 2014 Author Posted November 5, 2014 thanks men. ramfins, masking of all is easy and quickly. I'm afraid of slipping with the knife and screw up the body. in my opinion paint is safer for me and the brightness is best try it once to see.
