Custom Hearse Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 (edited) The first Corvette out of the sinkhole that opened up in Bowling Green has been restored and it looks great! https://autos.yahoo.com/news/first-restored-sinkhole-corvette-rolled-sema-170014199.html Edited November 5, 2014 by Custom Hearse
Maindrian Pace Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 That was the one that needed the least amount of work. I've heard that it was determined that only three cars would be restored, the Blue Devil, the black '62 (by an outside restoration shop) and the white 1,000,000th convertible. The other five will be displayed as is, and the sink hole will be filled completely. -MJS
iangilly Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Hell all it needed was a detail, I saw the rest of them in person and they'll all need a bit more work.
robertw Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 As I recall this one was driven out of the museum once it was lifted out of the hole so the damage wasn't too great. The '62 would also have been easily repaired. The two other very significant cars that should be restored was the 1,000,000 Corvette and the black ZR-1 Spyder. The last thing I heard was that part of the hole would be filled and part left and some of the most severely damaged cars displayed as they were brought up because so many people were interested in seeing the disaster. I wonder if the museum has changed their mind. rob
thatz4u Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 well, once they all get restored, GM will probably recall them
Automodel of Las Vegas Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 I don't think they recall cars that are no longer in production
Bruce Poage Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Come on--where is your sense of humor! LOL!
Lovefordgalaxie Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 well, once they all get restored, GM will probably recall them
