John Teresi Posted November 13, 2014 Author Posted November 13, 2014 Looking good John. What's your method for opening trunks and doors, back of an xacto ? Hi Ray........I use a small drill bit and drill holes along the valley of the trunk. area.......then I cut around it with an xacto........thanks
Mooneyzs Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 oh Johnny boy... put some "Junk" in that Trunk.... Awesome job on it so far. I never would of thought to cut the trunk out like that I have always scribbed the trunk or door lines with my bare metal foil scriber or the back of an Xacto blade. Nice Job Brother!!
Modelbuilder Mark Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 Are you using a contour guage to get the right cut for the inner wheel wells? Or do you do the old cut to fit card stock, then when you get it right, transfer that to the styrene sheet?
Greg Pugh Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 Man-O-Man...I'm SO stoked about these builds! I'm ready!

OldTimer50707 Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 You make it look so easy. Amazing start.
horsepower Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 Not that I'll ever be able to build anything close to what you do, but I have a technical question about the rules in that "class 15", you said you couldn't use anything that was developed later than 1980, what I'm curious about is the use of Alclad II, wasn't it introduced after 1980? Or do they just group it's use as a paint?
crazyrichard Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 ooh whouw those are awsome !! curious on the rest !!
10thumbs Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 A wonderful model builder at work. Respect. John, about "opening the trunk" as posted earlier....without messing up this thread, could you point me, or someone knowledgeable to a DIY on this topic? I don't know anything about this procedure. Ahem, Yes I do have a key that fits my trunk. Michael

59 Buick Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 (edited) Hi John really liking this build Is it my imagination or are the finished interior shots missing? Both cars look good, really like the custom although I am not sure of front bumper I feel it looks a bit heavy in the front. However, I will reserve my judgement until the model is finished with paint and alclad done The trunk areas look great, will you be adding fuel/oil cans or tools etc, e.g. Edited December 10, 2014 by 59 Buick
