StevenGuthmiller Posted November 12, 2014 Author Posted November 12, 2014 Its held in Bloominton Mn. We drive from Winnipeg for it a day in advance..Meet with some of the guys at Joe Sensers for dinner and stay for the show and go home the day after..(about 450 miles, 7-8 hours) It does help me though as my daughter lives in Shakopee Mn..Save two nights hotel room.... Well, let me know when it is. Minneapolis is about 75 miles from where I live. Maybe I'll make it some day. Steve
StevenGuthmiller Posted November 12, 2014 Author Posted November 12, 2014 Your builds are always spectacular and this is no exception. Flawless paint job and great color choice that is a bit different from what you see the most. You sure know how to turn those Promo-style interior tubs into good looking parts. Well Niko, you work with what you got! I'm not one for doing a lot of modifications. I enjoy keeping them as close as they came from the factory as possible. With a little "window dressing" of course! Steve
mangodart Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 Really gorgeous, did you rechrome the bumpers ?? MAkes me want to restore mine !!!! Your work on the outside mirror is outstanding !!!!
StevenGuthmiller Posted November 12, 2014 Author Posted November 12, 2014 Really gorgeous, did you rechrome the bumpers ?? MAkes me want to restore mine !!!! Your work on the outside mirror is outstanding !!!! Thanks guys! Yes Emmanuel, the bumpers have been re-chromed. I usually have the chrome re-done on these old kits. It's usually pretty rough & I figure, if I'm going to restore them, I just as well make the chrome shine! The mirror was my first attempt at scratch building one of this design. It's a little out of scale I believe. Looks a little too big. Maybe next time I can get it a little closer to what I was looking for. But, for my first one, I think it turned out alright. Steve
Chuck Most Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 Nice... and I've filed away that part about making clear steering wheel rims for later use.
StevenGuthmiller Posted November 12, 2014 Author Posted November 12, 2014 Nice... and I've filed away that part about making clear steering wheel rims for later use. Thanks Chuck! I've used that technique many times in the past couple of years. If you're big finned Mopar fan, or a 50s-60s Pontiac guy, it can get used quite often. Steve
Harry P. Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 Nobody does factory-stock MOPARS better. Beautiful work, just flawless.
StevenGuthmiller Posted November 13, 2014 Author Posted November 13, 2014 Nobody does factory-stock MOPARS better. Beautiful work, just flawless. Thanks Harry! That's greatly appreciated! Steve
Greg Pugh Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 Great job Steven! I'm a big fan of your work!
StevenGuthmiller Posted November 14, 2014 Author Posted November 14, 2014 Thanks guys! I've always been a big fan of these old Mopars. Now that I've about exhausted most of the '59, '60 & '61s that I wanted to build, with a couple of exceptions, It's time to move on to the '62-'69 Mopars. I've got a bunch of those to build! Should keep me occupied for a while! Steve
StevenGuthmiller Posted November 19, 2014 Author Posted November 19, 2014 Very....Very sharp model. Wow. Thanks Ben!! Steve
geetee66 Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 You properly did it justice, Steve. 1st class work. I love the fins and sculpted tail lights on these Chryslers. The wheels and stance look just right, too. Lovely job.
StevenGuthmiller Posted November 23, 2014 Author Posted November 23, 2014 Thank you Guy! I have really grown to love these old Mopars! So many people don't even know what cars like this are if or when they ever see one. Steve
om617 Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Beautiful model. Everything about it just says classy.
