dadaman
Hey guys. i decided while I wait on parts ( waiting for my mini coopers lights but our postage system has been crazy for 3 months ) I would start his new build. My plans for this kit were to detail it up a bit as it wasn't that great and to drop it low with some bbs wheels. I know its unorthodox to do it to a car like this but the car just shouted it. Although the body is actually wrong as it has the race arches they will be kept as is. Excuse the quality of the photos the plan first problem was the fitment of the body. firstly the nose sits too close to the front bumper so it was sanded back like the real car. the engine block was ok considering this is an old kit but needed some details. dadaman
one area in the engine bay that was really quite bad was the air box I cut most of it away and rebuilt the bottom, added throttles, fuel line, air piping and the clips. I still have to add a few more to it. The interior was flocked and the door panels was slightly detailed.

Foxer
Didn't even know there was an M1 kit. It looks right low .. and the engine is looking very good!
jefropas
I always loved that car, wish there was a modern build kit of it... Jeff

jaymcminn
Beautiful work so far. I have two of these kits... one came with the correct narrow body. the other with the Procar flares. It's pretty much a total crapshoot as far as what came in the box- I gather that ESCI's quality control might not have been the best back then. Looking forward to more of your build!
