Joe, you really put a lot of detail on just the firewall.. You have kept this build fun and interesting. Now find those keys or we will have to hot wire it....

Man thanks Richard! I still can't get over that diorama you're building.......sheesh!!!

Thanks Don! Well I'm assuming that the color is factory. I chose to keep the body the color it was molded in.

Carl: Oh Carl....I found those keys! Well guys I think (unless something pops up or doesn't look right ) I'm finished with the engine bay.....finally! The pics came out really bright and the body color looks more pink than anything else but I wanted to bring out the detail and the only way was to brighten the photos up a little. Later pics will be in normal colors. After this I moved on to the rear valance, tail light and bumper assy. Then it'll be the rear spoiler and a couple of other piddly things.

Here goes: ( I do have to get that dust offa there don't I)

We go from this (which is at least acceptable for my younger years)

To this:(I do, however, need to get rid of that dust!!!)

Nice Job on the detail work Joe. Looks like your headed to the finish line. Been kinda under the weather here for the past week so I haven't been on much. If I get to feeling better soon, I hope to get started on a nother project myself.

Joe excellent detail in your engine bay. Looks like your going to be able to finish this Challenger soon. I'm looking forward to seeing this in April at the Model Manina show.

Jose: Thanks dude!

Randy: I appreciate the good word man! I like what you're doin' with that GT-40.....wow!

Dan: Thanks buddy! I'm lookin' forward to bein' there myself. We'll see how the red beast fares! lol

Brodie: Thanks for the encouragement! Glad you were able to fix that. I have three of those kits and none of 'em have that issue. I'd like to suggest Revell kit #85-4213 for some additional goodies for your T/A build. The engine in that kit sucks canal water but the air cleaner and brake booster/master cylinders alone are worthwhile additions to the engine bay. There's a few other things you can use out of that kit as well. I used the IP decals out of it for the IP gauge work on this build.

Joe, looking good brother! although I would like to see all the hose clamps indexed properly :P lol, just kidding, looks fantastic!

Tim: I want to bud....I really do! I've still got the rear valance/ tail light panel, hood assy to repair and paint, and an antenna to install. I think that's it. Thanks for the comments buddy!

Tom: Thanks man!! I'm having nightmares about hose clamps! lol

Thanks Carl! Man that was a find all to it's own there. I was at my shop and found this wire on the floor. I almost tossed it and thought to myself.................."Now that's just the right scale for a heater hose!". The rest is history! lol

Well this morning at the end of benchtime finds me with just the hood to go and I'm thinking about putting a radio antenna on it and that's it. I got the rear spoiler finished up this morning and installed the rear bumper / valance assy. I'm not real happy with the tail light panel in photos because it looks like I missed the mark all together at the back up light area but it's straight I can tell you that!

It'll take me a few days to sort the hood out due to the ejector pin marks on the bottom side to iron out but this thing is all but there..............................

A superb build my friend! I think I might go with a pro-touring theme with my T/A and AAR combo...just something a bit different.

I can't wait to see this build in the "under glass" section buddy!

Posted

absolutely stunning! you're almost there Joe!

p.s. not trying to be nit-picky, but if you look in the pic of the engine compartment, it looks like the front of the battery needs a touch more paint to cover completely, but then again, it may just be the pic.

Brodie: Thanks man! I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with your Challenger build. As far as my build going in the Under Glass section......I can't wait either. This project was only supposed to take a week!! And that was over 4 months ago!!!

Tom: I appreciate you're comments and input buddy! The negative battery cable does need a little touch up. I'd rather catch it now!!! :D

Dan:Thanks and me too! :D

Joe, this thing is amazing, I can almost smell the green tree air freshener in it.

I think it's cool that you have built this twice, and so many years apart, just cool stuff man!

To be honest with you Tom, I surprised myself with this build. There are definitely things that I'll be improving on in the next build but I caught myself sitting back looking at it this morning after I had reached the end of my morning bench time thinking, "Did I just build that??".

Joe, I hear ya, it's amazing what you can pull off with some focus, time and determination.

.................and don't forget...lots of patience!!! LOL

Jeremy: Thanks dude! The drooling smiley emoticon??....I got ya covered...drooling%20smiley_zpsbamzenvx.jpgLOL
