Chuck Most Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Lovely model of my second favorite Morgan. (The three-wheeler is #1 if you're curious.)
thatz4u Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 very nice work, I think Ducky would love it.
2002p51 Posted November 21, 2014 Author Posted November 21, 2014 Drew, That's beautiful! Did you do anything special to those wire wheels? Those have to be about the most realistic wire wheels Ive seen in scale. Your clear coated plastic is amazing, can't use a "Hot" Clear Coat and get away with that too many times I'd bet. No Skip, I took the wheels out of the wrapper, popped them into the tires and put 'em on the model. In hindsight I think they're a little too bright and I think I should've sprayed them with some Dull Coat or aluminum or something like that to tone them down a bit. I don't have any experience with "hot" paints at all. I use Testors Model Master line almost exclusively. It works well for me so I see no need to use anything else..
geetee66 Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Very tidy build. Clear over the styrene works well with Tamiya quality bodies. Some of the AMT or Revell kits in my stash wouldn't stand up to that treatment, The wheels look nice. Is it 1/24?
Sixties Sam Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Very nice! The clear on green looks great! Nice work! Sam
vintagercr Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Drew, that looks very nice. I have one question. Do you sand the body before shooting the clear?
2002p51 Posted November 23, 2014 Author Posted November 23, 2014 Drew, that looks very nice. I have one question. Do you sand the body before shooting the clear? Yes, I gave it a light sanding overall with some 3200 grit.
vintagercr Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Yes, I gave it a light sanding overall with some 3200 grit. Great thank you.
PatW Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Superb build of a super British sportscar, and as you say in the right colour! Thanks for sharing. Morgan did supply the wheels in both aluminium and chrome finish. Except the Plus 8 which came with alloy wheels as standard or wires as extra's, at a price! Mind you a friend here in the UK had to wait seven years after ordering his Morgan! That's any model.
2002p51 Posted November 24, 2014 Author Posted November 24, 2014 Great job. Is that a curbside kit? No it's a full detail kit. There were, however, some engine parts missing when I started back on this model last week. Not sure what why. So the hood is glued shut.
