Oh, so you really want me to bring it to your little model show?

I thank you all for your very kind words.

Last night I decided to add some extra little details to the side trim insert. First of all, I glued strips of brass mesh screen to the inside of the vent openings in the front fenders...... it's a little tough to see in the picture but you can make it out. Next, I've had a set or fret of photo-etched flames that I got from Detail Master some time ago (#DM-2405) that I've been itching to use on something. I used the 2 smallest pieces on the fret and stuck them on a piece of doubled over masking tape on a paper plate. First I sprayed them with primer and then gave them a couple of coats of Black Gold Ultra Orange Pearl and then a gloss clearcoat. They look red instead of Orange but still look good. I glued (using clear enamel paint) the smaller of the flame pieces to the front edge of the door trim behind the vents. The larger flame is glued to the rear quarter just in front of the taillights. Then I attached PE Street Machine scripts in front of the rear flames also using clear enamel paint.

I was going to wait until the car was finished to show these details, but they came out looking so darn cool that I just had to share...

Wow Richard, that looks very cool! Have you been able to tell if the wheels will fit without major modifications?

Thanks James and Oscar.

James, Yeah, that '51 Fleetline was a real bear. Better late than never for any party.

Oscar, no, I've actually been putting that off, but I'm not overly worried. Worst case scenario I'll have to narrow down the wheels & tires a bit on the inside edge using my razor saw.

I like the flames too. A good eye, you did just enough but not too much. Hope the wheels go well. I spent an entire morning getting the right combo of wheels / wheel back and tires on the Volare so they fit in the wells and it sat flat.

I thank you all so very much for your extremely kind and encouraging comments. I really appreciate it.

Today I hope to finish assembling the interior pieces, installing the glass, and finish painting and detailing the engine compartment parts. The finish line is getting very close for this car. Thanks for looking in.

I've been following this on my phone, with its tiny screen, but today is the first time I checked it out on my home computer...since page 1 or 2, anyway. Wow. Very impressive.

The interior assembly is now finished...
