Cliff Dagger Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 I am looking for a kit the has the best steel wheels I want a very deep and fat wheel , I am building revell's 1950 Ford pickup into a fender less rat rod and the wheels in the kit look very small . I'm looking for something about the size if a NASCAR wheel and tire size. Thanks.
afx Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 IIRC the AMT '69 Torino, the version with the NASCAR parts has a very deep set of steel wheels.
Jantrix Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 (edited) The steelies in the AMT 56 Vicky are pretty deep for cheater slicks in the back. Umm.................just double checked, they aren't that deep after all. Edited December 30, 2014 by Jantrix
JTalmage Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 IIRC the AMT '69 Torino, the version with the NASCAR parts has a very deep set of steel wheels. this was the first kit that came to my mind as well. I believe it's Talladega counterpart had the same wheels in the kit too.
StevenGuthmiller Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 I know the Model King re-issue of the '70 Ford police car had some very deep steelies. Sorry, no pics. Steve
GLMFAA1 Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 The MPC police series mopars and had the race tires and deep wheels greg
Casey Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 The MPC police series mopars and had the race tires and deep wheels greg Yep, the MPC 1/25 Dodge Monaco, aka Duke's of Hazzard Roscoe's Police Car/JOker Goon Car/TJ Hooker poilce car has a very deep set of steel wheels, with distinct fronts and rears.
Cliff Dagger Posted December 30, 2014 Author Posted December 30, 2014 Thanks for all the replies. The pic of the 49 ford is what in trying to make. I totally forgot the Roscoe cop car had the steel wheels , the Amt Torino wheels would look cool too. I think it would give it a kind of Cartoon-ish look , but in a rat rod that's cool . Now to hunt down some kits.
