Well, I hope I will have the time to do this. Quite a while ago my 1/12th corvette took a spill off of the TV, and my 1/12th scale Z28 has been staring me down for, oh 15 years! So I thought I would do a motor swap and wheel change and do a COPO Camaro. I know it won't be perfect, but here her goes.post-13844-0-92641700-1420304969_thumb.j

This is the kit.post-13844-0-06761600-1420305198_thumb.jthis is the donor.post-13844-0-18576500-1420305365_thumb.jseems such a waste, because the tri power looked really cool.?

Are you doing COPO 9560 (aluminum) or 9561 (iron L72)?

Don't forget, the kit's Rallys are still a correct option for either. B)

I didn't forget Rich thanks so much. I want to build the ZL1 aluminum block. I'd like to replicate #48 in the registry, LaMans blue. The only real COPO in Ontario and it's for sale by private seller. Will see I love steel wheels and love rally's, but I'm nuts over torque thrust and some had those put on at the dealer.

I want to do the same thing with my Foose camaro. Looking forward to your progress.

I will be as diligent as time permits Tim. I will be working on the trunk next. Thanks for following along I'll post the door pic's later.

Now that is some inspiration if I ever seen some! I would give my left, well what ever I don't need them anymore anyway, for that in 1/1.?

Well worked on the trunk to day most of the day was spent making doors and trunk deck.

Here's the drivers door core getting built I used .030 styrene sheet for the skin and .125X.060 for the jams.

I cut out two of every thing and glued it all together with Tenx-7R solvent.

Then I used dupli-color scratch and bent filler primer to seal them.

Next is the trunk.

Then I thought I would add a weather seal to the profile of the trunk with .035 round stock.

That turned out, so I sealed it and I'm real happy with it. I think I will call it a day thanks for following. P.S thanks to Bill At the big boys for the reference pictures.

Stay tuned I really need some ideas on how to do the door hinges.

Great start Joe. Your styrene work is looking really good. Especially the underside of the trunk.

And your right!.......the tri power does look really cool.

Thanks Carl, and Len. I hope to come up with some way to do door hinges today, because tommarow I'll be back at my job.

I also was wondering if I could hire someone to make some engine decals, I'm afraid I haven't the skill on computers to do it my self.

Hi Joe,

That is a cool looking build you have going on, I'll be checking this out.

Help me a bit, why can't the tri-power be used?

Michael

Hey Michael, the reasone the tri power can't be used is because it was never offered on the camaro and I'm going for some what correctness as a COPO ZL 1. The tri power is cool on the vette and on goats, but fuel pigs not much for response and a tuning nightmare back in the day to quote Smokey Yunick.
