Codi Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Jeff, great start. I'd say for a "beginner" you're doing JUST fine. We're getting quite a few scratch builders right not on the WIP and Drag categories, always enjoy seeing more. Did you do the wheels too? Cheers, Tim
jeff f Posted January 21, 2015 Author Posted January 21, 2015 Thanks everyone , Tim I did , the front tires are revell FC with outer edges sanded. All the rest is 7075. The gold is allodine dipped. Still have a mountian of work ahead. Again thanks for the comments.
Mooneyzs Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 This is off to a killer start and I can't wait to see more on this build. It's great to see another 1/16th scale build going in here. You do some really nice machinig work. What brand of mill and lathe you doing your parts on? keeo up the great work.
jeff f Posted January 22, 2015 Author Posted January 22, 2015 Chris thanks for your words of encouragement. Your dedication to a single project is just incredible. I have access to a Hardinge lathe and a Bridgeport with servo II and minor NC capability.
futurattraction Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Superb work so far, Jeff. Can't wait for your next update!
rv1963 Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Amazing work, can't wait to see what you do next.
jeff f Posted January 26, 2015 Author Posted January 26, 2015 I made a fab 9 housing with filler cap . Also built a surface plate with scale 116" ref. lines . Next stop Teds.
Mr Dedo Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Most inspiring work I've ever seen. Thanks for sharing
Mooneyzs Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Jeff... that is awesome about the lathes you have access to. I am hoping one day to pick up a sherine mill and lathe. I would love to be able to turn some of my own parts. Ok gotta say that rear end housing is a beauty and I love the mock up of the body on the surface plate. The way that is is mocked uo reminds me of the 57 chevy 8 saw on street outlaws new episode last night. Keep up the great work and I look forward to more.
