slusher Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 A good trick for filling holes like that on bodies is to heat up a piece of sprue & stretch it a bit. When it hardens, cut an inch piece on one of the ends where it tapers like a cone shape, close to the size of your hole. Then apply a little super glue to the piece & wedge it tight into the hole. Once the glue cures, you can cut & sand the sprue piece flush on front & back. That way, very little filler is required to smooth out the repair. I use this technique all of the time for filling those antenna & mirror holes on old built kits. Steve That a neat tip...
James2 Posted July 13, 2015 Author Posted July 13, 2015 I'm changing the name to El Unicorn! Not really just thought I'd try Steve's idea.
StevenGuthmiller Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 image.jpg I'm changing the name to El Unicorn! Not really just thought I'd try Steve's idea. Hope it works out for you James. Saves on a lot of filling & possible shrinkage. If not, you can run a wire to the roof & use it as a clothes line. Steve
StevenGuthmiller Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 Back on track. thanks Steve. image.jpg No problem James. Now I can claim my little piece of what I'm confident will be a stellar build! Steve
Mooneyzs Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Thia build is looking great and I am digging the style of this.

James2 Posted July 19, 2015 Author Posted July 19, 2015 Well after finding another sink mark I was able to smooth it all up and add what I hope is the final primer coat.
wayne swayze Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Looks very cool and very low! I wasn't a fan of the side scoops....glad you removed them.
StevenGuthmiller Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 A bit hard to pick out the sparkle in the photos James. But that's the way it should be. Don't want it to look like a carnival ride! Steve
James2 Posted July 25, 2015 Author Posted July 25, 2015 Yeah I need to try a better angle and light. Maybe later!
StevenGuthmiller Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 I can pick it out a little on the tip of the front fender on the bottom shot & on the wheel well in the bed on the first shot.Looks like a very nice pearl coat! Steve
