restoman Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 I did this about 8 years ago. first time using BMF. The body was warped pretty bad, took a bit to straighten it out. Paint is single layer car paint (I'm a bodyman/painter by trade) and layed down a little too thick. i lost some detail under the paint, as well as making the hood script to hard to define for foil. but it looks nice in the cabinet.
bbowser Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Who said Caddy's had fins? Great looking model, perfect color.
StevenGuthmiller Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 It is nice! What is the color? Is it the correct "Gauguin Red"? Looks pretty close. I've always loved that color! Sort of a very bright coral. Steve
slusher Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Gorgeous model and great color and finish..
charlie8575 Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 It looks good in the cabinet. That's 100% of the battle right there. And it does look good. Charlie Larkin
peekay Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 You did a great job, and the colour looks to be dead right. I'm about to wrap one of these up myself - not the easiest kit I ever built.
restoman Posted February 16, 2015 Author Posted February 16, 2015 I'm not sure what the colour is... it's just something I mixed up. I wanted that shade of red and picked one out of a universal colour deck. Thanks for the great compliments!
