microwheel Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 Afternoon guys. I finally got this Vette done after 3 months of working on it. It gave me it's share of problems. Mostly fit issues and the way it had to go together with all the detail work I added. I wanted to make this vette a rarer 427 with factory 4 wheel disc brakes and air conditioning. I was able to make the changes I wanted, but it took alot of work. You can visit my build thread on it to see what all went into it here..... http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=96097 I'll try to add as many pics as I can, so this may take a couple of posts to get them all in... More pics in following posts
taaron76 Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 Very, very nice, Jim!!! What build is next? Tim
microwheel Posted February 24, 2015 Author Posted February 24, 2015 Very, very nice, Jim!!! What build is next? Tim Not Sure yet Tim, I got to get my work shop cleaned up and then look through my kit stash. I have a couple in mind, but haven't made a final decission yet.
10thumbs Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 Hi Jim, What a wonderful model! Color combination is gorgeous and the model just looks like it belongs on a brochure from 1967. The detailing is what really makes it in my book, and you have it perfect. I enjoyed the WIP, and you can be proud of the result. Just magnificent, and a real beauty. Michael
mustang1989 Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 (edited) Good grief!! I'd be scared to handle it! What an immaculate build Jim!! I really enjoyed following the build and watching all of the detail you put on it. Edited February 24, 2015 by mustang1989
Jantrix Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 That is fantastic. What color is the interior? I've been looking for the fawn leather color in a rattle can forever.
Burnout Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 That looks really nice. I especially like the top - it looks very real.

Thanks Rob, the interior was something I color mixed with several different shade of model masters enamel paints to get it as close as I could to a true saddle color. It was mixed and then shot with a air brush. I don't remember right off the top of my head exactly what colors I mixed.. it was quite some time ago lol.. But should be in my build thread.

I sorta was Joe, especially since my hobby room is in my garage and I had to walk through a snow storm to get it into the house today, which is where I took the pics lol.

At times I got frustrated with it and almost gave up.. just ask my better half, she came out to my hobby room manytimes when things weren't going right. Edited February 24, 2015 by microwheel
