Mopar - D Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 (edited) I'm starting with a Jimmy Fintstone resin 39 Dodge CEO and the AMT Ford race hauler. I plan to change out the ramps to remove the bumps that are currently there. Looking at going with Hemi Orange and maybe some type of stripe will see how it comes together. tubbs Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 (edited) gonna be another kick butt build Dan. old style hemi will work just fine in there. i think the storage compartment is fine the way it is, but its your build. you will build it beautifuly no matter what way you go. Mopar - D Posted March 2, 2015 Author Posted March 2, 2015 Thanks Clayton, Al I'm going to use the Cat that came with the car hauler if I can get it to fit. This is gong to be a custom car hauler so I'm deleting the tire rack and just going with a big storage compartment.

Mopar - D Posted March 4, 2015 Author Posted March 4, 2015 Thanks guys I will be making progress on cleaning the resin cab up and cutting down the Ford interior tub so it will fit into the Dodge. I also got some better pictures of what the 39 Dodge really looked like and may be adding some more details to make it look more like the real ones. I'm also working on cutting down the ramps that stick up. I'm not sure if I'm going to remove the indents that they have for the front wheels. Should I keep them or remove them and make it all flat??

Mopar - D Posted March 6, 2015 Author Posted March 6, 2015 Worked on the frame and the interior today. I had to cut and trim the interior tub so it would fit. Next I will cut down the dash board. It's looks like I will also need to cut a little out of the front axel to bring the wheels into the fenders.
Mopar - D Posted March 8, 2015 Author Posted March 8, 2015 More work on the interor cut down the dash and firewall. I also cut 1/8" out of the front axel to bring the wheels into the fenders. I'm going to have to move the engine back 1/8" and lower it some to get every to fit.

Mopar - D Posted March 8, 2015 Author Posted March 8, 2015 Thanks Terry and Tom. This one has been a lot of cut and fitting so far as you can see I have not even ready for primer yet. I'm not sure of what color now to use I was planning on Hemi Orange but I'm going to have my hot rod mixer on the back that is plum crazy purple and yellow. So I'm thinking maybe I should go with purple on the truck also. What do you think I should go with?

Carl - thanks to I'm in the mood for building trucks that carry cars lol as I may have one more after this one its one of those that's still in the eary planning stages.

I also made a window frame for the front windshield like the real 39's had still working on getting the front axle in the right location and the ride hight. I'm not sure what I'm going to do for the radiator yet but will not fit in front of the engine like most trucks but this is a custom so im going to figure some where to put it.

Mopar - D Posted March 15, 2015 Author Posted March 15, 2015 Moving on I painted the engine and added a little black detailer and finished up the frame. I've lowered the fuel tanks just a little so they will fit under the door steps. Also started squaring off the storage compartment. Here's some pictures of my progress. Your comments and suggestions are welcome.
