slusher Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 Glad this one is back on the bench Rob, love this build....
Jantrix Posted August 1, 2015 Author Posted August 1, 2015 Thanks Carl. More this weekend. I'm planning to complete the interior and get the body ready for paint.
Kit Basher Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 This is really fun to watch. Cool concept and nice technique. Carry on!
Jantrix Posted August 16, 2015 Author Posted August 16, 2015 Lots accomplished lately. First off I have scrapped the whole idea of building it twice, once for Cannonball and then once as a squeaky clean drifter. It will be build as a sleeper and that's all. But set up like a drift car. So I stayed with the sleeper wheels but used a performance tire. Body is painted in it's chosen color and I'm just waiting for the enamel to gas out before I start the weathering. Interior is completed. I just have to modify the kit glass some for the roll cage and the fab work is finally done.
Jantrix Posted August 21, 2015 Author Posted August 21, 2015 Okay last update before under glass. The body is painted, foiled and some mild weathering. I intended it to look like surface rust coming through thinning paint. I think I was sorta successful in this regard. I tried a weathering medium I'd never used before. No too bad. What do you think?
AC Norton Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 ............I think this piece is one of the most innovative and interesting builds I have seen in a long time.....refreshing, different, and masterful execution.........the ace.....
slusher Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 I like the mild weathering Rob just right. i have liked this build since you started it. i wish this kit would get reissued....
Jantrix Posted August 21, 2015 Author Posted August 21, 2015 Ace, you are making me blush, man. Thanks guys. I appreciate the ataboys. I'm really looking forward to my first contest with this one, when I set it down in the tuner section. It should get some attention. I'll see you in the "Under Glass" section. Soon hopefully.
