Harry P. Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Yuri... tell us your painting process. I think a lot of members would like to know exactly how you get such a perfect finish.
funhouse1 Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Always know i'm in for a treat when I click on a thread featuring one of your builds and this is no exception...beautiful! If you don't mind my asking, how did you develop such a passion for American cars?
tim boyd Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Yuri...congratulations...that is some spectacular model you've built. The paint finish and the interior finish, plus the overall detailing....I'm very, very impressed! TIM
Drake69 Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 That green is sweet. I love seeing vintage cars in as-close to or exact colors of the period like this. I need to use more colors like that. Very cool!

meaneyme Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Looks awesome. What's your trick to doing the panel lines? Very few people get that to look right.

Doing the panel lines tamiya enamel paint.Paint brush panel lines on lacquered body.excess paint is removed from the body with a cotton swab dipped in white spirit.

StevenGuthmiller Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 I was born in 1961.In the Soviet Union did not make beautiful cars. fell in love with his childhood in American cars in the picture. This love has remained a lifetime! Sorry for my english. That's amazing in itself! That some one who grew up without ever being around these cars could capture them to this extent. Maybe the rest of us just take them for granted. You're a master Yuri!! Steve
W-409 Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 Super nice work, as always. This must be the best build that I've seen from this kit. As always, your paint job is incredible and as someone said, panel lines look very good. Nice touch adding a bit better headlights to this one as well. Very nice and clean work. Is there any American Car Culture nowdays in Russia? Here in Finland there definitely is, but I haven't heard much about American Cars in your country.
yura1961 Posted March 12, 2015 Author Posted March 12, 2015 Is there any American Car Culture nowdays in Russia? Virtually no.
Jade043 Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 Awesome build. I built one of these my self but chopped the roof off it. Yours however turned out a lot better then mine.
charlie8575 Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Spectacular. I LOVE the Union Pacific license plate. I might have to work one of those in someplace on a model. Charlie Larkin
carrucha Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Excellent work. I picked up this kit at the NNLWest last January and I hope it's even half as good as yours.
mikemopar70 Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Very impressive build! Your Pontiac looks very good!!
