RatRod Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 I know, another one!!! Yes, another one is "Under Glass" This bike was done as a tutorial on....gulp....another forum I did it to show some tricks in modifying one of these kits. I used several ideas used by a custom bike shop not to far from where I live....Felony Flyers Hotrod Bikes in Seattle WA. This has got to be my most modified bike yet, and I think it looks pretty kool. The paint is HOK tangello pearl base, with HOK orange pearl fogged in on the edges, masked, and Duplicolor metallic black shot on. All comments welcome!! For anybody interested, here's the build up.... http://coffincorner.proboards89.com/index....read=1201024497
Raul_Perez Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 John, That's another really nice build!! Simple, clean, and all of the main details are there!! Thanks for sharing!! I never get tired of seeing these!!
Mike Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 Hands down the HOTTEST Revell bike kit I've seen!
Matt T. Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 Way kool, RatRod! The details really make it, and your clean build style seals the deal. Very nice!
curt raitz Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 Geez...that looks like fun these Revell bike kits can really be played... very nice build, excellent craftsmanship thanx
Darrell Gwinn Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 Well Im usually not a big fan of motorcycles, but this thing really appeals to me, it looks great. Its simple but yet has that mean look to it.
RatRod Posted February 16, 2008 Author Posted February 16, 2008 Thanks a bunch guys!!! All your comments mean a lot to an old fat bellied modeler..... Just so you all know, I DO build more than just bikes!!! but for now, I'm addicted to 'em!!! I have amassed a huge collection of Harley's, model kits in several scales, and diecast bikes too, so when these kits hit the shelves, I bought at least 60 of 'em..... So I have to build no less than 10 to justify that to my wife....lol You know!!! I have just started a new bike this afternoon, #9 (almost there) I'm also working with a resin caster in the next few months, I'm doing masters for some really cool stuff for these bike kits, and that's about all I can say for now....
Zoom Zoom Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 This bike is truly awesome! It's along the lines of how I want to build one...a real hotrod, not a chrome-laden piece of driveway jewelry. Nice work
Junkman Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 This is really nice. On question: Are these Revell kits the same bike in different guises, or is each one really a different kit?
Lyle Willits Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 WOW. I REALLY like that. Just wonderful, from end to end.
