Nate
I think it's a Revell Kit. See here http://www.modelroundup.com/product-p/rmx-4239.htm
Olskoolrodder
And they're saying February on Modelroundup
Rob Hall
I think it's a Revell Kit. See here http://www.modelroun...-p/rmx-4239.htm AMT is doing them also...SS coupe and convertible kits...as curbsides like their Challenger kits, I believe. Was in the iHobby Expo news a few weeks ago. Edited November 30, 2011 by Rob Hall
george 53
Fred, our Micheal's carry's both Revell/Mongram kits and AMT but no Lindburg stuff. Might be a regional thing.
Rob Hall
Michaels craft store had the AMT full detail concept Camaro kit, saw it today and thought it was interesting. not at all a fan of or into the new Camaro, but i thought it was interesting that Michaels had AMT kits on the shelf. That's the old concept kit from about 4-5 years ago. This thread is about the new AMT production '10+ Camaro kits that are coming...
Rob Hall
Haven't been in a Michaels in years...didn't realize they carried kits.

S. Svendsen
Here's a pic of the convertible test shot I snapped at ihobby. The kits look pretty nice.
Danno
The product card in Sean's picture indicates 1st Quarter 2012 release.
martinfan5
Is this kit going to be any different then the concept kits AMT did?, or the same just a newer year?
Rob Hall
Is this kit going to be any different then the concept kits AMT did?, or the same just a newer year? Totally different since this is the production Camaro...and curbside.
blubaja
That's odd, the boxart on the convertible has a foreign front plate bracket. I'm not 100%, but isn't thee supposed to be a pace car version also?
martinfan5
Rob, thanks

I'm not 100%, but isn't thee supposed to be a pace car version also? It is odd...the boxart shows a European spec '12 convertible (the big mirrors and wide plate are the giveways)..don't know why it's marked as a '10, since the convertible was a MY '11 addition to the Camaro line. I had read there was going to be an '11 IPC convertible promo. Edited December 4, 2011 by Rob Hall

I had read there was going to be an '11 IPC convertible promo. Now that IS odd. You are right, the convertible was introducted 2011, so it should not be labelled as a 2010. The box art does show the overseas mirrors, but the test shot has the proper domestic mirrors. I thought Round2 had their stuff together and the old AMT/Ertl/RC2 era of obvious blunders was behind us.
martinfan5
Well GM did just release the camaro in the UK

Whoever put the mockup box art together probably grabbed an image from GM's press photos w/o looking too closely....not sure about why they have the year goof..you would think they be labeling these kits as 2012s since the 2012s are out now....likewise for Revell and their Camaro kit...2010 is so 12+ months ago... Skydime
Here's a pic of the convertible test shot I snapped at ihobby. The kits look pretty nice. Cutting open the hood of the convertible and mixing it with the concept could possibly make a nice full build.
exnyman
The box art for the coupe shows a 6 cylinder RS model, not an SS.........this would be great for me as my 1:1 '10 is an RS not an SS...but...I am sure they will do the SS rather than the 6 cylinder RS. Skydime
I personally think the SS's with the ground effects don't look as good so the convertible works well for me. Edited December 8, 2011 by Skydime
rasafyff
The ground effects are optional on the Revell kit. This is great for me .I ordered my Camaro without ground effects and without the sunroof.I have a 2SS/RS 400HP Automatic. It's Inferno Orange with white SS stripes and the orange and black interior. W-409
Needs to buy one of these, and build something like this:
Rob Hall
I saw the SS coupe kit at the LHS yesterday...passed on it as I'm waiting on the full detail Revell kit (due in February or so).
blubaja
Picked one up today. Box says RS/SS but there are only SS decals...Body and interior are multipiece very well done. Body detail is a little soft. Chassis needs to stay unseen underneath lol. Not much detail there..ugh..
