Can-Con

Ok, so, here's what I'm starting with for the first truck. It's missing a couple suspension parts but I can cast copies from one of the unbuilt kits I have. It'll be a silver over white build with a traditional 4/6 drop. Gatorback tires on Ferrari wheels. Probably keep the 454 but swap the intake out for a F.I unit. I'm definitely going for the '90s "Sport Truck Magazine" look with this one 😎 Gotta love that air dam used as a visor glued on with a 1/2 tube of glue. 🙄 Anyway, this is how it's sitting as of an hour ago.

Well you can just glue the engine block halves together and call it good, Bill. 😉 But seriously, love to have you join.

If I had started the thing a bit later or had taken a bit longer to build it I would have participated in the build, if you would have had me. 😉 As it was, I was just finishing it up then the build started. 🙂 This is referring to my '29 pickup build, of corse I would have done a couple things a bit differently.

I dug my old '90 longbed out of storage a couple weeks ago and managed to pull a couple of resin copies from that grille I had scratch made for it around 30 years ago. Unfortunately, it came out of the mold in pieces and it no more. I don't think I'll redo this one but I have blown apart an old 454SS gluebomb I picked up a couple years ago and will be rebuilding it in a late '90s style.

Wondering if there'd be any interest in a build now that are easily available? It would be for , ,, , '88 to "98 Chevy and GMC pickups Suburbans, Tahoes etc. could be in the old school "sport truck" style from the '90s and '00s or more modern style with larger wheels, etc. The kind of truck you'd see at a show, not a commercial style or daily driver. AMT/MPC kits or Lindberg "Boyd's Hauler". Snap curbside or full detail kit. I have a couple ideas I'll be starting to work on soon so anyone else ? BTW, no deadline.

Ya know Mike, I wouldn't be surprised at all if Round 2 comes out with an older 2 wheel drive square body based on their current kits in the next year or two. Maybe even a long fleetside, who knows.

Yup, it's as it's always been since its original versions were introduced over 40 years ago. Ya gotta remember back then model kits were primarily aimed at kids, especially the Revell ones Proper front suspension, stock bumpers and a better engine would go a long way to improve the kit , , short of a brand new kit.

Man, those decals sure are retro. Very '90s vibe. I bet they'd look right at home on one of the new AMT OBS Chevys.
