It may take a while to get this one done because of the cold weather and me not having a dedicated place to paint. Right now I have washed and scuffed all the parts. I have my heater going in my out building, and some lights rigged up. Hopefully I can catch a break and get some primer on tonight. It was a pretty day here so I figured I would attempt it. As with many snap kits, the sky is the limit. If you are looking for some 1/32 scale detail items, Don Mills Models has several including alternate wheels! Look forward to seeing your progress! Remember, if you can dream it, there was probably one in service somewhere that looked just like it! We had "safety green" trucks at my old station (read neon green). I was thinking of a white cab top over red for this one. I may get more adventurous with the next one. If they aren't I'll get someone to make me some up. That R cab truck looks GREAT!! What did you use for the hose bed cover on the yellow one? I was thinking about that last night since I don't have any hose to go back there and it will save trying to detail those tight side sections. So in order for it to last the car case was glued shut. It sits in a place of honor in his bedroom. Chariots of Fire Posted March 9, 2014 Share Posted March 9, 2014 If you decide to go with the white over red paint scheme let me offer some warning. I did that recently with one of my builds and found that the red bled through the primer. Check it out first say on the inside of the body or cab where you can shoot a test shot of primer and white. If the red doesn't bleed through you are in good shape. If it does you need to add a barrier to the red surface first before you apply the paint. Here are a couple of snap kit rigs I did.
