Optum mail order Rx customer service! For years, they've had my e-mail/phone number tied to my wife and her info for my name. Recently I had a new Rx ordered by my Dr which was showing as 'pending' but then disappeared. I would much rather do things on line than talk with someone but this was clearly going to be more involved. I called the 800 number and got "Mark"...while not an AI, clearly he is NOT on this shore. I said I need his help fixing two things.....the date in their system assigned to the wrong name and then a new Rx which disappeared....so I said let's do the name/info switch. He calls up my info and asked if I wanted to renew my BP med. Wait....what? NO! Leave my meds alone and focus back on the info. I explained what is going on and he asked if I knew the other person. Umm...it's my wife of almost 30 years so yeah we've met. What should have been an easy fix took 20 minutes. Then he asked if I want to renew three meds of my wife. 1) They too are on auto fill and 2) I don't know how many she has left so I will let her deal with those. Now onto my new Rx. It was in their system for me (which was correct) but they put it on her info which I presume someone saw and they cancelled it. I got a call a few days earlier from their automated system asking to speak to my wife. When it asked if was {wife's name} I said no. When it asked if she could come to the phone I said no (she was at work). Click...it hung up on me. Apparently they took that as approval to just scrap the Rx. "Mark" got it straightened out and due to the error they would expedite the medicine.....delivery time is 5-7 days. Glad its not an urgent med! I can go to their warehouse and pick up the Rx and be home in a nine hour round trip. All good.....of course not! That evening I get an e-mail they removed the autofill for my BP meds. OMG....seriously? He removed something we didn't even talk about! I sent back a very grumpy e-mail just lighting them up. I had an appointment the next morning so she went on line and fixed it. She's a nurse so she has the comforting ability whereas I have the moment of Bluto from Animal House when they all got expelled! Optum send me an evaluation e-mail this evening. If they really do read those, its not a pleasant review

Got the A1C down from 8.3 to 6.6 in six months! Down 30 pounds as well. Found a couple bags of white chocolate (w/ Fruity Pebbles) in the cabinet...passed them all out for Halloween. That hurt.....

Let the trio after their dinner Tuesday and I hear Bear barking folllowed by the clang of the fence. I figure it was one of the crazy cat ladys cats making break for it but nope....young deer hoped into the neighbors yard. It rained for two days here so just had that suspecion it could make a return appearance. Midday Wednesday bio moment, I checked the yard and it was back. Dogs are bougie so likely won't go out so just went back in. Waited a couple hours hoping Bambi.....nope decided it liked my yard and decided to hang laying down. Nooo!! Nine pounds of vicious terror of mini dachshund would be the most likely candidate to go check it out, I went back in for a couple more hours. Dinner time and I check yet again. It's standing up so I decided it was 'last call' and took a plastic grocery bag and walked towards it slowly russling it. It finally got the hint and went over the back fence again. My Aussie was abused before I adopted her and she still has bad memories so she is more passive aggressive type to bark from a safe distance. As the senior citizen of the bunch, Bear is not one to start a confrontation but certainly one to investigate

Doing yard patrol this afternoon and I see a hole in the ground. Suddenly I see bees coming out one by one....ugh! Looked on line and its recommended that you use cinnamon or peppermint (something with a strong smell) to get rid of them. I'll go one better! Wife purged a couple things out of the fridge yesterday, one of them being half a jar of sauerkraut. Waited until about an hour after sundown and dumped it in.

Forest Park OH location....no 57 Chevy sedan or wagon. Plenty of 69 Camaros, Lamborghini Diablo, couple of the Wacky Racer and the 1/32 semi trailers.

Took three sizeable boxes of blankets, bath towels and wash clothes to the shelter. The county shelter that I adopted Riley from runs is rural and runs completely on donations. I got talking with the reception desk showing the transformation she has gone through. I turned around the wife already left the building going back out to the truck. When we were in route, she told me we're not adding another dog...and then she leaves me inside unattended!

I didn't drive one in Vegas but my oldest gave me a Driving Experience locally. I went with the Ferrari 430. Almost tested the Scotchguard on the seats as the ride along employee told me to put the petal to the floor. He meant roll into it.....I heard stab/steer. I wasn't expecting that much power and immediate throttle response. They let my almost teenager (at that time) sit behind the wheel of the Lamborghini Gallardo.

Toy show last weekend. The gentleman had a handful of built models and parts kits that someone made slot cars out of the bodies. This looked 1/25-ish made by Ideal. It was $10

So since our Dr left the office we saw a new Dr at another office within the same organization. My wife is a nurse and my interpreter on medical terms or to what level I' screwed. I swear it was like watching a tennis match them two going back and forth like I'm not in the room. While I got the A1C down from down from 9.9 to 7.7, it's crept up to 8.3. WTH....No Doritos...no peanut butter cookies.....no pop. She's keeping me on the Metformin, but switching to extended release which more people seem to tolerate {read as less explosive diarrhea}. I also get one of the injectable meds too. Thankfully I married into the medical field as I had so many allergy shots as a kid I don't do needles! On the plus side, my BP actually read low for one in....ever. So we know those meds are working well. My mom died of a massive stroke in 2007 as she had high BP but never took the meds and tossed them I her dresser. I have a lesson close to my heart to do what the Dr says. Showing my age here but growing up one of my favorite bands was Molly Hatchet. Lead singer Danny Joe Brown left the band and came back a few years later but he passed of complications of diabetes. Just wasn't the same with the new lead and can remember how it impacted my music choice at that time. It really stuck with me....
