In Topic: American Racing Miniatures to Re-releaseChris Etzel's Speed Classic kits

15 March 2014 - 05:33 PM

I bought the dirt tires and wheels, and a Stutz Blackhawk today. The Offy is with the white metal like Chris had. These are beautiful kits, and money well spent. I missed them the first time, I won't this time. What's really neat is that they're packaged like the originals. These guys have big plans , and I hope they work out. If you're an open wheel modeler, this is a great time to be building.

Sorry no photos. I picked up a Stutz Blackhawk Etzel kit (my holy grail) , some Etzel Halibrand dirt wheels and tires, and some old Speed Age magazines. This was at the IPMS show in Indy. American Racing miniatures is doing a great job on the Etzel stuff. I know where I'll be spending more cash.

Fellow Etzel fans, these kits will be available at the IPMS show, in Indianapolis, at Raymond Park Middle School March 15. I can finally get my Holy Grail, Stutz Blackhawk.

In Topic: Are rally drivers the best in the world?

If you want an overall driver as best, Foyt or Andretti, sorry European fans. Dirt , Indy, Daytona , 24 hours of Daytona , 24 Hours of Lemans, , all real world conditions. This was AJ.

Dirt car Champion, 3 years later Formula 1 champion, Indy, Daytona 500, 12 hours of Sebring,Pikes Peak,, real world conditions. Mario.

Of course this is all subjective.

The interesting part of Rally Racing is the use of spectators as guardrails. I guess they don't tear up a car  as much as real guardrails.
