  1. Dennis, the base color is Tamiya TS-15, different panels were cleared, glossed, flatted, and sanded, for an uneven, slightly weathered appearance. It prolly won't win any awards as the judges will assume it's an uneven and varied, inconsistent paint job. I'm happy w/ the result though. I sprayed the clear heavy on the trunk and wet sanded it for a weathered look on the lower edge.
  2. .......getting closer to having this finished for a change.
  3. Thanks Bernard! I just trying to maintain the standard of everyone else's work on here.
  4. Factory molded kit floorboard on the left, modified floorboard on the right. I removed the center console locating rib, added the raised seat detail, and retextured the floorboard.
  5. I agree. It's something I've been wanting to build for a long time now.
  6. I saw this on my FB newsfeed...........the poster stated it was a third quarter release. Can anyone confirm?
  7. Wow, is an understatement! Thanks for the inprogress pics! I'm gonna have to dig out that '29 RPU I have shelved and rethink the front end now. I like your execution and then I can shorten the wheelbase a tad.
  8. The built, green '30, is an assembled prototype of the kit. IIRC, it's to be released the first quarter of 2016.
  9. Nice color combo on the wheels and white walls! Are the white walls painted, or the kit decals?
  10. I agree Dennis. The chrome doesn't have the right look to me. That's why alot of my builds have the "chrome" parts stripped and painted.
  11. Very nice Dennis!!!!!!! Here are pics of the upcoming '30/31 Ford using the '29 chassis parts.
  12. I'm not sure where the modded '30 body is now. Buried in my stash, not exactly sure where. I've moved twice in the last 6 yrs. See if you can find a post by "spex84", he added the louvered trunk also on his '30. Keep up the good work!
  13. Front axle cleaned up minus a few leafs.
  14. Dennis, I'm sure you'll have quite a few before too long. Bernard, here's my front axle after I shaved a few leafs off.
  15. You're welcome David. I tweaked a louvered trunk on the Monogram '30. I added strip to the left and right sides, and trimmed a little off of the front and rear edges. I have JF '30 body w/ the louvered trunk also, thus my suggestion. Im looking forward to the rest of your build as Revell will be releasing the '30 the first quarter of 2016 IIRC.
  16. I don't feel like a hoarder now since I have 7 kits and Tim just started his 6th build of this kit.
  17. Whoa, you were able to shrink down a 1:1 sized car into a 1/25th scale model? Turn the key and start it up!!!!!!! Now that's one heck of a build!
  18. I hope the trans mount isn't glued in. That's the location for the radius arm mounting points. Looking good so far. I like the body! Have you considered the louvered trunk panel from the '32 5w? Or are you going for the smooth look? I'd go w/ the center steering wheel also if you're installing the shifter w/ the skull.
  19. Lookin good so far Bernard and I love the PS rendering. I looked into getting this kit as low as possible also. Z'ing the rear wasn't a problem, but I couldn't figure out the front end because of the kit's front axle as others have stated. One possibility I came came up with, the suicide perch up front, but to keep the proportions even, I was going to leave off the grille, mount the radiator in the trunk, and splice in the louvered trunk from the Revell '32 5w. (I'm still working on the first build figuring out to correct some issues, but I'm hoping to have it finished soon. I plan on being at NNL in Santa Clara, hope to see you there again.)
  20. Looks like the standard has been set! That's one heck of a build to be proud of!!!!!!!
