  1. This can help find what you're looking for . https://fatfingers.com/NoAffiliate.aspx After that it's really about being patient and persistent. Sometimes I'll discover a kit and look for it and then just wait for one to fall into my price range and or minimum condition requirement . Antique stores and estate sales are good and there are people out there that buy collections if you can find some of those people local to you more times than not you can get stuff cheaper than online auctions .
  2. here's a video that may be helpful for what you have planned .
  3. Thanks , it should start flowing now .
  4. Bucket hinge figured out . I will do more fine tuning and shaping on the connecting points . I'm happy I got this part worked out !
  5. Figuring out how the hydraulic lift portion works was a hurdle , there are so many pivots . Once I get the bucket hinged to the frame the rest should go much easier .
  6. In a surprise turn of events I ended up finding the woody conversion for $10 at a local show . I'd still like to know the brains of the operation .
  7. A couple more pics . I need to figure how to hinge/plumb the dump body and what engine to use and a good non airbag tandem axle .
  8. I think you might have to build the door jambs and probably at least one part of the hinge will have to be on the jamb portion . I couldn't find any videos on how or where the pivot point is on the real truck . But they are supposed to swing in , not out and away .
  9. I've been working on this lately . I'm trying to finish before February. I was trying to keep it all parts from the 60 chev pickup but the frame looked way too small for the dump bucket , I was also going to keep it single rear axle but it looks way better as a tandem set up . Eventually this will have a theme and be part of a diorama . I'll post pics of it mocked up with the tandem setup later .
  10. Does anyone know who created this kit ? Has anyone e seen one built ? I can only find adverts in a couple months of SAE mag in 88/89 . I always thought it was cool , they also made a 40 ford woodie conversion and a continental kit for a 57 chevy .

  12. I'm looking for more podcasts to listen to while modeling . Preferably model car related but a good all around motorsports podcast would work too .
  13. Looks like it's on its way !
  14. I'm not sure how many were in this series but any of these . I like that it came with an obscure to me vehicle , a scooter and people and things those people would use for the activity . The first one I ever saw was on ebay last year but I missed it .
  15. The same ones testors reboxed ?
  16. I watched a documentary on that car which made me want to build that particular car but also reminded me how insane the countach was at that time .
  17. What Lamborghini countach kit is the best ? There are so many kits out there and some are obviously not well done . My only experience was with the Monogram kit , which I felt was an easy build and I felt good about the end result back in the 1990s .
  18. What a difference a decade makes . I'll have to review my list and photo what I actually have now vs then . Affordable 3d printers and several releases from the model companies most of my list is doable .
  19. I had a hard time using the kind you wear , this one has a dimmable light . MagniPros 3X Magnifying Glass... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09FSR8HFT?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
  20. I always wanted to be a GSL attendee . It was incredible , inspiring and I felt everything I thought I would . I knew I would be there when they announced this would be the last one , the weeks leading up the show made me uncertain I'd make it but at the very last possible minute things clicked into place . Walking into the contest hall Thursday morning I could feel the buzz , my eyes welling up with the realization I didn't miss it , I was there . Recognizing literally every name on every name tag from the magazines and forums would have been a bit too much for this introvert except the first person that I talked to while waiting in line to register was this really nice guy that I share a first name with , he'd been there before , he would nod and wave if he saw me when he was on The move and just sit down and chat when he had some down time . I was very happy when he won best of show . I also had a conversation with Jim Keeler who has four very large chickens and is going to be working on a very large model of the Titanic , yes both of those are related . Seeing Mark Gustavson in his world was exactly as expected and revealing simultaneously . I met many national luminaries , saw so many exquisite models , being in the same place really makes you feel what it's all about . This is by far my best modeling experience. Thanks to everyone that was a part of it !
  21. I'll print one and send to you
